    We recently had the siding and soffit replaced on our brick home. Through many torrential rain delays (~15” of rain) and supply chain delays over six weeks, our project is nearly complete.

    During the construction on this project, Giada my ‘15 458 Italia, was parked and on the Ferrari battery maintainer. The contractor originally indicated the project would take about two weeks to complete.

    The 12’ long James Hardie supplies were placed on our driveway in a way that completely blocked my 458’s egress from the car park. So for six weeks, my 458 relaxed in the climate controlled car park on the Ferrari battery maintainer.

    I typically drive my 458 several times a week. As the time began to drag on with the remodelling, I started to wonder if it would cause any problems sitting so long without being run. Visions of starting issues and endless error codes danced in my head…

    I’ve read some posts saying that long periods of non use might cause starting issues, or pesky error codes may show up when starting. I’m proud to report that my 458 fired up with no issues/codes…

    During the six weeks, we had many severe storms and one caused our power to go out for about 2.5 hours one day (approximately 1 million people lost power) and the power blipped on and off four times in less than one minute during the same storm.

    Even though it’s been four years, my pulse still races every time I see Giada. In more than 48 years of driving, I’ve never experienced a car that has so utterly and completely enchanted me. The wave of Ferrari awesomeness I get every time I start her, is like the very first time four years ago!

    At times electric outage may trip your battery maintainer off. Good idea to check it out to give you confidence in your maintenance. I live in Fl where we have Electric out frequent enough esp. with all the current construction. I have a Cytek 7002 and have never had an issue with mine therefore hardly ck. anymore.

    I think you meant CTEK 7002. I use one for each of my cars (except my daily driver). Never an issue when the power goes off.

    Hook up all your important electrical devices on an Isobar surge suppressor. There can be surges in voltage when power is restored that can damage sensitive electronic devices today that run off ECU's.

    Great advice… I have a whole house surge suppressor, as well as numerous equipment specific surge suppressors/battery backups and/or line conditioners on sensitive equipment like computers and other electronics. The Ferrari battery maintainer is also on a supplemental surge suppressor.

    My brain is a bit dysfunctional. When I spell something wrong, but it sounds right, I for some reason keep it that way. At almost 79 I guess I should be satisfied with a little dysfunctional memory. I have not had any outage with my Ctek, but I did have a little with my original Ferrari charger that came with my 15 Italia.

    I've started to step up my game with voltage regulators in addition to surge suppressors. I think a lot of new appliances, hvac, and other electric items have outgrown our aging electric infrastructure in the US. Variable speed HVAC controllers are overly sensitive to voltage variation.

    I think you are spot on! We just installed two 4-ton, 26 SEER Carrier HVAC VS systems on the main house and are awaiting the install of another 3-ton Carrier system on the car park.

    Are you adding the voltage regulators to your hvac systems, or on your mains line?
