Throttle House F355 video

I've always enjoyed these guys' videos, they don't try too hard to be cool or know-it-alls... and having met them in person, they are super down to earth, and just plain love cars.

 

It's funny how these car youtubers are desperate to promote the idea that the 355 is a maintenance nightmare. They say you have to take the engine out to replace the water pump or even the accessory belt tensioner. Fake news.

 

Or that every major is 30k

 

I have taken my engine out 5 times for services and it’s a mind over matter thing.
Everytime I am dreading doing it and everytime it is not that difficult.

never look that close at the water pump but taking the engine out to replace the water pump is likely way easier than just trying to replace the water pump.

Every fix is so much easier when the engine is out.
Simple things like installing the plenum while the engine is in. Or replacing the fuel pressure regulator are way more difficult when the engine is in.

I think that’s why most of us just say drop the motor

 

I replaced the water pump with the engine in many times. Take the gas tank out. Rifledriver does it from above.

 

The YouTubers are pushing some dramatic tension, an entertaining narrative, a story arc. It was fun the first time but now every 355 video is basically: It's so beautiful. The driving experience is epic. It sounds glorious. You will fall in love. But this lover is hiding a dark secret....

 

Why is an engine out major never mentioned on any other Ferraris which require it? I never see it mentioned in Testarossa reviews and that one is presumably more work.

And the steering is easily fixed with a smaller wheel.

 

They are right; the F355 is a maintenance nightmare. LOL

 

Be careful, you too have to take your 348 engine out for a tune up.

if I climb on my plenums I have prancing horses on my knees for a week

 

That and they have zero technical skills. Engine easily out over a weekend and a few beers.

 

Am I the only one who had forgotten how bad the car sounds with the stock exhaust?

 

Totally agree. Every video of it online has modified exhaust on it, I forgot what it sounds like stock. Mine already came with Capristo exhaust so that's all I'm used to as well.

 

I basically despise all YouTubers now. It’s all rehashed crap from losers trying to make a buck. I hope this fad dies soon.

Mine is 100% bone stock. Ridiculously quiet.
