So do you work for sir hamilton's publicist? Wonder how we'll cope, we wonder who you are and where you came from? Wherever that might be, please go back there. Good Christ, sir daisy chain is back to complete the circle.
That's not a bad example! I still thought Hamilton deserved it. Massa crashed out of Malaysia, the team had the fuel hose in Singapore and he failed to get himself into the points even though others did. I do agree though, Massa deserved the title as much as Hamilton.
You say a championship isn't won over a single race, then proceed to single out 2 particular races. Many things happen over a season. Why did Max under perform and lose his gap in points? Sir Lewis Hamilton made mistakes first half of the season. Many things happen in a battle. The last race was the decider. Breaking the rules decided the championship.
He is certainly not as peppy and edgy as an alonso... Genuinely believe if alonso was in a mclaren/ferrari/rbr he could be wdc
'Enough said'? That's a pathetic response. Again, I was talking historical. I was thinking Stirling Moss in 1958 for sure, Graham Hill in 1964, Massa in 2008, Lewis in 2016.
Max didn't under perform. Lewis was given another dominant car, an illegal one at that. Max's only real mistake was his crash in Saudi quali. But keep telling yourself Lewis was cheated. Max is the champion.
And you should keep telling yourself Lewis wasn’t cheated… Max is the 2021 WDC…thanks to Masi. Denial on your part doesn’t change that. The WDC came down to the last race…and it will be forever tainted.
Hamilton and Mercedes got exactly what they deserved after Silverstone and the illegal car they brought to Interlagos.
Hamilton eliminated Vestappen during the first lap at Silverstone. Max was hospitalised while Hamilton's car was repaired during the Red Flag. Hamilton wasn't even penalised and went on to win !! What happened at Abu Dhabi was a poetic justice, IMO !!
I liked Hamilton like any winner who race cleanly. He deserved his success up to 2021, when Mercedes and him started to make mistake. To stay ahead, Mercedes and Hamilton both started to use unsavoury methods during the year. When Masi ordered the 1 lap restart, my first reaction was one of shock. But I soon came to the conclusion that justice had been done. I was very happy for Max to be WDC, even if I had never been a supporter.
That’s the painful thing about history, it is written by the victors. Twenty years from now the only thing most will remember is that Max won the WDC that year, not how. Just as most today remember nothing of the past like Senna/Prost or Schumacher/Villenueve, etc. Woulda, coulda, shoulda means nothing.
In this case, I disagree. You still have the silly “illegal car” being thrown around, 3 years later. I feel bad for LH and Max, as this Masi error tainted what was an exciting season.
I suppose it all comes down to point of view then because I loved that last lap and finish. Still makes me feel all warm and fuzzy watching it to this day Exact opposite experience from Massa's loss at Brasil
Lets be honest, the Lewis fans keep bringing up 2021. Based completely on rule interpretations viewed after the fact to suit the Hamilton fanbase's narrative.
I could be wrong but I don't think a Sir Lewis Hamilton fan brought up Abu Dhabi. FIA already said errors were made.
1. Max wasn't hospitilized. He went there for precautionary checks. Redbull played this up to the media as "Max getting Killed". Zhou's crash at the same race the very next year was worse, and you never heard any complaints from him, his team, or the media. Horner heavily played into the media as you "cant stick a wheel up copse". Later in that very same race, Lewis indeed stuck a wheel up Copse and both him and Lecerc survived. Becuase Charles does not have the brain of a gnat when he is desperate. After the race, Lecerc himself said the crash was a racing incident, as well as a host of other racing drivers. 2. Lewis was penalized for the race. He recieved a 10 second penalty. Which, in hindsight was total BS. It was literally a first lap incident. 3. Max was predominatly at fault, if solely observing the rules of racing engagement. Here is an analysis by racing driver Randy Pobst. Basically, it boils down to this: Don't hit what you can see. If a racer sticks a wheel up the inside of a corner and are significantly alongside, they own the corner. Max Had plenty of paces to the left. What happened at Abu Dhabi wasn't "justice", it was a legit travesty. 2 rules were broken, solely for Maxs benifit.
I didn’t bring it up, John Ireland did (see post #8981). You guys need to learn the difference between "action" and "reaction".
