From this diagram it looks like the RCA jacks are line out which means they would need to go to an amplifier...do all cars have the amplifier? Otherwise I assume the speaker L/R are the lines which are amplified inside the unit? Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK, just noticed something... Is there only 2 RCA audio outputs (FL/FR) on the CP-71W? How does that work with the factory AMP or Bose AMP?
I think I answered my own question.... The actual unit has a diagram with the FL/FR and FR/RR. The PDF doc online seems to be wrong. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's weird re the link - if I click it, it goes to a spam site, but if I copy/paste it into an incognito window, it goes to the correct product on Amazon - not exactly sure how/why that is doing that! Take 2: https://www.amazon.com/RED-WOLF-Connector-Aftermarket-Replacement/dp/B09CYX2SM2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3E84ONYFBIWU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9._7ZCUgkoc0lsC2Skesx0JFXT3o1FJX3ZqBEz4Hp887ue_bKwszO0yjxtyK4lgUDjjvBYALC0nphCtD4UVGa-8YzTHBID1d0kU6KFoR0Er-7mAXvZTqAufaAb6A_RDsBjlg3yIptCgJQ4g6GSebuoZFsYH8NSmkyD12WQNIU_QXQcNi0eQK1ozE84GPYDrJYjuYk9hH60GOZ6arCaStve8p6jOgjWR3ewil3NDly-Su0.9gcH78QsMb9GDHp-dP29d2ollNNkyOma_rLfbp-JrNI&dib_tag=se&keywords=red+wolf+car+radio+antenna&qid=1717165625&sprefix=red+wolf+car+radio+antenna,aps,127&sr=8-4 Re the wiring harness - I am running an aftermarket amp, so I just de-pinned the speaker wires from the harness adaptor. But, I think it is as simple as connecting the speaker wires into the harness and you should be good to go.
Nice catch. I used speaker output from the deck in my old suv. The drivers in this are much better than the aftermarket deck I replaced. Thumbs up so far. Planning to use line-out pairs to the super amp in F430 (someday)
Well, don’t everybody get all excited on these I guess. First hot day with the top down and my screen just blanked out. Touch still worked but didn’t see what I was pressing. Reboot didn’t help. I think the unit overheated. Giving it a bit to cool down and see if that helps. I guess you can’t expect too much from $150.
Hi guys as I'm waiting for this to arrive from Walmart I am reading here that their description of having Android Auto as an option is not correct...kinda getting deflated. Is there a similar solution that you would recommend for Android Auto? Or can this one do it through some miracle?
I don’t think so. Everything still works properly, it’s just the display. It’s back on now that it had a chance to cool off. Doesn’t bode well for summer driving though. We’ll see how it goes.
The AC in my 2000 suv sucks. Do you think there is some sort of direct sun sensor? Or just basic "android-Im-too-hot"? We should be the same climate and cooked it today without issue.
Doesn’t the Becker have a built in Fan for cooling? You may need to add some sort of cooling fan or a heat sink to the Power Acoustik. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think the issue is the lcd screen. Cooling would only help on the back. Sort of how your phone screen will turn off if left face up in the sun.
If you're buying the radio from Walmart, maybe this should be added alongside it: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Black-Car-GPS-Navigation-Hood-Visor-Radio-Sun-Shade-Cover-Anti-Glare-S7R1/2831424897?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101133085 It is not particularly aesthetic, but it would help.
I don’t think that little shade will help much unfortunately. looks like LCD blackout is what I’m experiencing: https://metrospec.com.au/lcd-blackout/ ugh. So much for a solution. I’ll probably just stick this in my wife’s jeep and keep looking for alternatives. Curse this sunshine climate and my love for convertibles
Joe, I would just exchange it for another and see if the problem persists. you might have gotten a lemon.
This is a great thread and find for a head unit. My 360 came with a pop-out/tilt-screen and I’ve been wanting something exactly like this. Price is insanely good and it appears to be well reviewed. I’ll give it a shot.
So if you didn't have a Spider, then it would have been OK? Did the Becker have issues with the LCD screen and the sun?
right. I don’t think this will be an issue for coupe owners. Also, I think the type of lcd makes a difference. Probably why you still see old style displays in aftermarket units predominantly even though we’ve come a long way in small display technology. Maybe even why motorcycles have a tft display. that said, there are plenty of convertibles with factory lcd displays. Maybe the makers of this budget brand never considered what needed to be done to make it work well in direct sunlight

Another happy installation of the unit, this time on a scud. I’m not the least bit savvy but I got it done fairly quickly. Thank you GogglesPisano and HUGE thanks to vr4henry for their patience. Happy to pay it forward if anyone wants to do an install but needs someone to help out. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
