so a bit crazy question... I'm looking to do a crocodile interior on my Bugatti. I think I'm going to use lizard skin to replicate the leather... anyone have a source for 1/8 faux croc vinyl ?
Nothing I've ever seen or heard of for crocodile in any scale except of course 1:1. I think your best bet is using lizard skin.
Kinda what I was thinking. I want the John Mozart 57C look for the interior of my Atlante .... I've ordered some hides ... so we'll see how they turn out!
So, Zeta kits refuses to sell the 1/24th Maserati Eldorado kit to anyone outside Italy. That is a shame, for them. FPPM will now do an Eldorado kit for sale to the rest of the world. He is also working on an endurance prototype car that is based on a red F1 car. This one will be very popular, and available in several versions!! Zeta kit is printed and looks nice. It is limited to 100 kits, only for Italy.
Wow, finally a 1/12th Chaparral!! I think it must be a 2E. They messed up the date. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm building the wheels right now... what a PITA .... They are not quite as bad as Pocher wire wheels ... but close....
I think they're pretty good, these wheels ! As I assembled 2 kits, I therefore have 10 wheels at the end ! For the last ones, it took me around 45 minutes to complete them
OMG... these wheels are so painful..... The instructions are very painful to follow on the wheels... I've one more to do... I've also done the first round of my Crocodile interior - door's and seats.

Well, it looks like you can get this 1/24th ZETA Maserati 420M/58 kit, one of 100 thru a back door. Not sure how easy it will be, but you can try to write the Panini Museum and ask for one. He finally sent me the kit after a long wait. No guarantee and FPPM will also be doing the 1958 Monza and 1959 Indy 420M cars in 1/24th scale. I will compare kits when I get both of them, although the ZETA kit will be hard to beat as it is amazing!! By the way, that M420M/58 done by Maserati Models in 1/12th scale is all wrong. Don't buy it.
Amazing car!!!! In 1/12th scale, I think the first Chaparral in 1/12th scale. Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^^ It wasn’t blessed in the aesthetics department however!! It should be dead on accurate with all those flat surfaces.
As Denny Hulme once said, "It looks like the box it came in". Personally, I was hoping for a 2E...but that big-block Chevy engine looks really good....
What a great looking model of a technically amazing car. The Hiro Chaparral 2J in 1/12th scale. I consider this the American "moon shot" for race cars. The model is shown unpainted. I don't think I'd ever seen an underside photo of the 2J. Fascinating. Made me go back and double check the Falconer/Nye book and confirm, no photos from that angle there. MFH must have had some access at the Permian Museum in Midland.
