Hi, Is there an easy way to check the Ferrari 308gtbqv actuall build day, month, year. ?
Register you and your car at the myferrari app and you may eventually get some historic information suddenly appear in your profile
I just did this. The 12 month warranty started Dec 21, 1984. Looks like a Ferrari birth announcement to me! Was told by two different unofficial sources my car was a Dec 84 build, so Dec 21, 1984 it is. Image Unavailable, Please Login
For those that want a rough idea of a time line for their car: Mine is #50045. The VIN plate in the door reads January 84. Ferrari received the order for it from FAF on Wednesday Dec 14, 1983. It was completed on Friday January 27, 1984. It was logged in for final evaluation (Prova run ?) on Wednesday Feb 1, 1984 It then stayed at the factory for that entire month until it was loaded for shipping to the USA on Friday Feb 24, 1984 along with two Mondial Cabriolets #49975 and #50029 and four more 308 GTS # 50041, #50043, # 50097 and # 50099. The order from FAF was noted as "urgent" in Dec 1983 by Ferrari but it wasn't sold by FAF until April of 84 (I don't have the owners manual in front of me at the moment with that exact date but I seem to remember it being the latter half of the month). That seems like a long time from leaving Italy to going home with its first owner but I don't know how the process worked then. I assume it went to New Jersey then had to wait for a ride to Atlanta then had to be dealer prepped by FAF. Maybe two months or so was normal. I have no idea.
One other bit of trivia. Ferrari listed my carpet color in the interior finish section of the factory paperwork as "beaver". Literally. External - metallic black 901/C Internal - beige 3218 Carpet - beaver (no number)
Dr Tommy, Your color carpet is "Castoro" in Italian, and its number is 172, at least for the 328. It was the usual match for "tan" ("beige" for Ferrari) leather. "Castoro" does indeed translate into "Beaver" in English. In italian heraldry, the beaver (= Castoro) is a symbol of dexterity, intelligence and perseverence... Rgds
Hi, so there is no way to find out…..maybe I will contact Dealer to point me in the direction I need to go. Thanks anyway Gents
Another screen grab from MyFerrari app. Shows a recall accomplished. Anyone know what C24000034 was about? I tried searching on Fchat and looks like Lloyd is asking too. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/recall-c24000034-whats-this.669740/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
You can find out if you submit your car for Classiche certification I'm sure. All the info you want is in your car's build folder there.
I'm not very thin skinned but don't post 3 & 6 give you a clear solution ? Remind me not to try to help you in future
Same here in France. My '89 GTB (#81085) has a birth date ("construction date") as stated by the factory by E-Mail, and for free, in September 2008 when I bought her, of April 5th, 1989. It was sold new by the french importer and main dealership Charles Pozzi in Levallois, immediate suburb of Paris, on April 27th, 1989. This is the starting date for the warranty. #81085 was road-registered ("put in circulation", in french) on May 17th, 1989. (Funny thing is that the original owner lived in the 3rd "arrondissement" in the center of Paris, in the street next to the one where one of my favorite italian restaurants is) Rgds
