Hey guys, My car was moving along fairly fast, went from stage 30 to stage 60 in a matter of a couple weeks. Last update was stage 60 completed first week of April with no updates for a while. GM says this is normal and he’ll update me when something new happens. Told me beginning of May it’s almost complete but nothing has happened. First Ferrari, does this seem normal? Usually other brands don’t have 2.5 months of no updates or a car just sitting there.
What color ? Sometimes non-standard paint causes a delay around this time - also others over the years have reported this - it just kind of happens with Ferrari (as noted by GM) and sometimes it suddenly jumps to 90+
Color is Grigio scuro. Great to know that this is normal. Impatience is a killer, 25 months in and counting!
Yes my GTB stalled for nearly three months at the same point. Basically it froze in the system from November 2023 to end of February 2024, and then it zipped through the last stages to ship second week of March. Landed at dealer two weeks ago, a week of back and forth with FFS while they did the delivery PDI. Supposed to finish PPF today or tomorrow so hopefully I'll get it for the weekend. Deposit to dealer was 32 months. In the queue, I was GTB #9 or 10 for the dealer.
yep. they can freeze. dealer knows best-has the most experience. mine shipped about 2-3 weeks ago, but it'll be late august before it arrives at dealer (so about 10 weeks- 2.5 months from now.
The good news is that after it gets going again it might speed up pretty quickly. Ferrari wants to get them out the door.
I don't know how accurate their system of stages is. I was at the factory not too long ago on a private tour and was told that a car from paint to completion takes 3 days... Got to walk the assembly line and see where the cars come in as a frame and go out completed. There are 50 stations and a car is at each station for 20 minutes before moving to the next. 9 hours of work time each day.
You are 100% correct , 3/4 layer paint done externally can delay, as can road tests , QA and then fixing issues so all in all it will downs longer being transported than from VIN to leaving the factory . Porsche do the whole process and have it on a truck in 7 days
I've moved relatively quickly from 10R (June 15th) to 50 (today, July 9th). Will keep you updated on if I move past 60 or I get stuck like you. I've also heard of Ferrari's system lagging where it shows you are stuck somewhere for a long time but in reality the car is moving and the system is just not updating. You could have a surprise delivery coming!
Mine went extremely fast to 60. Best of luck to you. GM is trying to get an update. Im not so sure about a surprise delivery as even the GM is not sure whats going on.
GTB finished production mid May the GTS mid june no updates...guess i'll get them when i get them and i'll be happy
Dealer says my car on the truck from NJ, will be delivered this week for PDI. It left Maranello on May 6. My app still says "waiting list."
Thank you for the information on the deposit to delivery period. My Portofino M was delivered in 24 months but my 296 GTB seems will be 40 weeks (December 2021 deposit) and still in 10G. Something definitively happened that caused the 50% increase in the delivery period. The 2022 and 2023 deliveries were in the more normal 18 to 20 months span. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
What I heard about the 296 delay in 2022 was that they were changing things or testing things in the hybrid system for EU certification(s). Not sure how true that was, but it seemed like the first customer GTBs were long after the demo cars made the rounds around February 2022. I was an early October 2021 deposit for June 2024 delivery. At deposit in October 2021, they guessed that it would arrive by March/April 2023.
October 2021 deposit--being delivered next week. Long time. Wonder if that delay has now been shortened significantly?
