Practice starts at two today, can't wait:-)!
Delay to the start of Hyperpole due to a big crash in the Le Mans Cup race. Jota busy switching to a spare chassis.
Didn't see that coming. Bourdais must be so pissed he didn't go back out. IMSA represented pretty damn well. AO in LMP2 and Inception McLaren in GT3
as mentioned previously, I think this is Porsche's race to lose. hopefully the 499p's can help them with that
As much as I like the Ferrari's for me I'm pulling for Penske 100%. I so would love to see them win at Le Mans inside of Roger Penske's lifetime Absolutely stunning lap to get pole.
+100 ! I am with you there, being a Porsche fan at heart.. I always liked the LMhD concept more than the LMH. Not a bad job from the Caddies either ...
It should be an excellent race. When’s the last time we had Porsche, Cadillac, Ferrari, BMW, Lamborghini, Toyota, and Alpine all running the big cars. F1 should pay attention to what the WEC is doing.
Porsche, Ferrari, Cadillac, and Toyota all look good. However, I'd say Porsche have the edge in overall pace, while Toyota and Ferrari seem to be with them during the night hours more.
Bourdais team knew there were going to be top 3 regardless, and with knowing they have a good car in race trim and the better line-up of the two Cads, it was wise to stay in the pits and not risk the car.
Seb Bourdais gave the reason why he did not do an extra lap. There was so little fuel left that there was a real risk of running out of fuel, which would have cancelled all his laptimes, as per the rules, as happened to a couple of others on Wednesday. FYI refuelling is forbidden during the super pole session. The porker that got pole was on fumes at the end, it's driver said so. Go Ferrari, Alpine, Caddy. If the latter win it would be very ironic as in Europe everyone equates Cadillac with crude mile long fifties and sixties convertible land yachts that can't turn or brake and lose their hubcaps if you try. They have failed to sell any cars in Europe because of that image.
obviously I want Ferrari to win, then Porsche/Penske, but I'd be happy with Bourdais in a Caddy winning would make up for his Peugeot heartbreak you bring up a good point about brand image. this isn't Cadillac's first rodeo at Le Mans....but can't shake the land yacht image. although maybe Le Monstre's styling didnt help Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hahaha true, I have seen the real le monster at the Collier museum in Naples, Florida years ago and spoke with the Brit who made and brought his recreation at Le Mans Classic 2022 or 3. In France the word Cadillac brings to mind the iconic and hilarious 1965 film Le corniaud (the sucker) with Bourvil and Louis de Funes: French Jerry Lewis Walther Matthau equivalents. In the movie Bourvil is suckered in to drive a caddy full of contraband -which he does not know about- from Italy to France. A true classic. https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3109730841/?playlistId=tt0057967&ref_=tt_pr_ov_vi Edit: The full movie in French no subtitles: https://ok.ru/video/1484165679867 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, complete slapstick but a lot of fun! I just added the link to the full movie in my previous post.
It brings to mind the subplot of The French Connection although that was the opposite of a comedy farce.
If anyone knows of reliable free streaming link for LeMans, that would be most helpful. I unfortunately lost Motortrend TV. Thanks
