I leaned the motor on my 308 yesterday. I just went out and let it run and found the oil leak. It looks like the oil pressure light sending unit is leaking, I can see it drip every about 30 seconds. It’s the small one on the inside, I am assuming that is the one for the light.
Does anyone know if this is a Ferrari part, or one that may be cross referenced so I can find it in town?

Its not very expensive. I cannot imagine spending any time finding an alternate source for the very few dollars you might save.

It’s not the price. I have had the car two months. I spent the last 4 weeks trying to get a tag. Today I got everything straight and finally got the tag! Now I just want to go on a long drive. LOL, I just don’t want to wait for a part to be shipped to me. I know I should have patience!

I have a very good cross reference book put together by a very long time Ferrari parts man and there is no cross reference for that part in it.

A oil light switch should be relatively cheap. Sometimes a cross reference can be found in the 'cross reference' thread at the top of the 308/328 forum page. I just found a good post there on cutting out a couple of pieces from a common radiator hose that has the perfect bends and diameter for replacing the short hoses at the 308 water pump. Too bad there isn't some sort of index for the thread.

If you have a part number Yoyopart.com sometimes shows what vehicles the part is used on which is a big help if you go to a big box store where they only go by what what is on their computer.

The day will probably come when you'll just take your dream car with the little oil leak on that long drive and just clean it up later.

:D I almost did yesterday. So I took the Exige out but it did not quite scratch the itch.
