I have a Seiko dive watch that is at least 30 years old and was a gift from my father. The time has come to have it restored(?). Where can I get this sort of work done?

Numbers on the case back:6309-7040 and 176056

    Thanks in advance.

IWW watch service....they do lots of vintage Seiko Divers

    http://internationalwatchworks.com/ship.html

RGM watch service in Lancaster, PA also, but VERY expensive

Seiko has their own COSERV facility in NJ if its a quick service, not restoration

IWW is the business for old Seiko divers. I had my 6105 restored by Jack a few years ago after I had spent a few months hunting down NOS hands, strap and seals for it. Magnificent.
    I have a couple of 6309s also.

I just checked the IWW web site and it explicitly says they do not service Seiko.

You just replied to a 15 year old thread. :p

I don't know about vintage but the Seiko service center will let you get an estimate if you know the model number.

Although I can't say I recommend them as I've sent my Ice Diver in twice for warranty work and after they claimed it was a broken stem that I had to pay for, it still didn't work right. Sent it back and it works now but loses minutes over a day or two and you have to fiddle with the stem to get it to hand wind.

Kinda gun shy to try it a third time.

Thanks, John. I’ve read a lot of negative things about the Seiko service center. Frankly I was surprised that they have such a bad reputation in what must be their largest market. Fortunately I don’t need any service right now.

Thanks for the recommendation. I need to have my 6309-7049 serviced. This one was my dad's watch also, so it's very sentimental to me! (Opps, should have read the whole thread. looks like they don't work on Seikos anymore lol)

Isn't Bruce's Seiko Service the go-to, if they are still around?

There isn’t much about him on the web and his own web site hasn’t been updated in three years. Do you know anything about him?

    Thanks.

Call these guys. I know, little shop in Fort Myers, FL, who's ever heard of them, etc, BUT they did a great job putting several of my not very expensive watches back to work and then told me that my 1951 Vacheron didn't need service, to leave it alone, rather than do it anyway and charge me several hundred dollars. I would trust these guys to either want to fix it or know where you could send it.

I know, kind of oddball, but really a great little shop. Nothing leaves the store if they can fix it they do, if not, they refer you on.

There's also a former member here who is a Seiko expert, lives in England, but I can contact him for a service referral and see what he says if that will help. P4Skett, I think banned here, but I still communicate with him.
