    Hey Guys

I am getting my wheels refinished and new tires along with it... A question on a couple parts on the wheels:

    1) I got 20 new inserts from Ricambi - but it looks like they might need an o ring or something? They seem to have a groove as marked in the picture below - are these pressed into the wheel directly or do I need to use an Oring/Sealant/something else in the groove? My old one seemed to have some kind of black glue on it?

    2) What is No 12/13 on the diagram below? They are not on my wheels - so I am assuming just a dust cover... but any recommendation on where to get these/replacement covers?

    Thank you!

Don't know about the inserts other than I believe they came in two different diameters.

12 and 13 are an o-ring and inner cap to seal off the wheel hole from the inside. T%he inner equivalent of 7 and 8. Most are lost after the first tire change.

12 / 13 on the diagram seal the back of the central cavity where the yellow prancing horse emblem is. They keep some/most of the water out of that area.

The inserts do not use any rubber o-ring. They are simply pressed into place.

Daniel, On you web site, on the "Wheel" diagram, #47, they are listed as 14 and 15. 15 is called a gasket. Is that not an rubber O ring for sealing?

On diagram #47 (355, 2.7), part 14 is called "Gasket".

#14 and #15 are for the rear 'center cap' -- they're not part of the Wheel Inserts which the OP is installing.

The word gasket is often used when it is a seal or an O ring. Ferrari has often used ESL students for technical translations so accuracy and consistency suffers.

According to Daverocks, "Those are undercuts [grooves] in the inserts. The only purpose is the relieve the cutting tool radius so when inserted into the wheel the radius doesn’t interfere.
