I installed these today…plug and play other than modifying wire ends for new speakers …used factory grills..very happy with the sound…no wonder I had awful sound quality…look at my old speakers…completely desinigrated Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Has anyone done a firmware update successfully? It actually starts the process for me but ends up at a black screen. The left side small lit up buttons are cycling through colors at this point but nothing else happens. Their instructions say to wait for 2 min...mine has been going on for 10+ min with no change. Thoughts?
Same here. I actually logged on to pose the same question. First attempt was with the zip file but the radio couldn’t read it. Second attempt I extracted all the files onto the usb, including the update folder so everything is available. Black screen after the firmware was updated. It actually gives a staticy, snowy appearance first. Third attempt-basically extracted to have it look like it does when you open the folder, thinking the boot process is maybe looking to open the folder first via a path address. Nothing. Had to do a factory reset, and fourth attempt is same as second and third. 10 minutes and no update. I’ll do another factory reset so at least it boots the same as before the update. This is the boot up screen I get, then after 10 seconds it boots normally but the old version Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Yes we have the same experience... Have you tried from a freshly formated fat32 USB stick of good quality? I'm about to try that again...
No, keep me posted. The only thing I can think of is I also have a few jpegs of the Cavallino to upload for the startup screen logo.
@Pashaj I figured it out...for others who are looking to do the firmware update. You need to get a USB drive that is less than 32 Gb in size and format it using FAT32 in Windows. Then extract the ZIP file and nothing else. Use the process as per the instructions and it will update. I can confirm that I have Android Auto now and have successfully paired it with a phone. This is the screen you will see within 30 seconds of the starting update - it will go blank for about 10-20 seconds then this comes up and then completes within 2 minutes. Thank you so much. Can you take a picture of what the files/contents of the thumb drive should look like? Meaning, does the head unit look for the update folder or did you extract the files to all be available without a folder. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Ok, I can finally report that I got it to work. Big thanks to @DanNE for giving the instructions. I failed the first time after reading DanNE's post. I used a 8GB and did a quick format to FAT32 but it didn't work so I suspected it was because I used a generic thumb drive so I tried again, using a 32gb PNY and formatted it the long way (unchecking quickformat). Took about 45 minutes to format it. YMMV. I've attached a photo of the contents of the thumb drive after I extracted the zip file. I can confirm that you can change the bootup screen, BUT to save yourself some time, you have to rename the image to changelogo.jpg. Also, you can change the wallpaper and the name doesn't matter. Just go to wallpaper, then hit the plus sign and all the jpg's on your thumb drive should be listed there. I've attached a few photos.
There's a thing about scaling the image for the logo which I'm still trying to figure out... Based on 6.5 inch diagonal and 1024 x 600 resolution (not sure if the second one is true) the ppi should be 182 but if you scale an image to that it still stretches it out. Note your Ferrari logo is cut off at top and bottom...
Sweet! Maybe we can start a thread of different boot up screens for everyone to share! I’m not savvy enough to make my own. I’d love to have one with a black background with the Ferrari font like the boot screen on the 430 radios
Yeah, I shared that photo for that exact purpose. I ended up using it as my wallpaper and the plain red Ferrari logo as the boot up. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
OK, where do you put the "changelogo.jpg" file? Do you do that on the update USB or insert a USB afterwards with the file? That part isn't clear. I'm going to try to update mine today or tomorrow (the PW radio still not installed, my passenger window switch broke yesterday so when the repair kit arrives I'll do the radio install and switch repair at the same time).
I put it on the usb after I did the update, but that’s because I didn’t know I had to rename the file until after I did the update. To be on the safe side I’d do it afterwards. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
So when you boot the radio it checks the usb for the file and if present copies it over as the new boot image or do you need to leave the usb in and it only displays the new boot screen when you have the usb installed.
The former. You go to the “change logo” option in the settings menu and it looks on the usb to see if you have a file named changelogo.jpg. It’ll confirm if you want to make the change along with a preview of the image, and if so, it’ll overwrite the one it has. You no longer need to keep the usb plugged in afterwards. @Pashaj, thanks for the assistance. I expected it to be a bit more complicated than it was. They actually made a settings menu option. Here is my startup screen and the padded file so that it aligns correctly in the screen without scaling. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here’s the one I downloaded. The preview image was smaller. Don’t know how it got so big. Btw, if I pull the drive, it reverts back to the power acoustik startup screen, so I just left it plugged in Image Unavailable, Please Login
