    Hi All,

I love my 675LT Spider. I love the looks, doors, gun crack upshifts, steering and its rarity.

I am relocating to Dubai and am likely selling my 675. I am considering buying another or possibly getting an F8 Spider or 812 SF (non gts).

For those of you that have had seat time in both can you please share your experiences?

    Thanks

I have an F8 Tributo, 812 GTS and a ML 600LT (675's little brother). I'd say, first of all, that all three are pretty different cars:

675LT: Raw, track-focused, mega fast weapon
F8: Mega sporty and fast too, but not as raw, and much more comfortable, even GT-like relatively speaking. The Pista would be more like the 765LT
812: Obviously the much more GT-like and comfortable of the 3, although also a beast sports car, and obviously very different driving experience given the mid-front engine.

If you are moving to Dubai, I think Ferrari is huge over there, but so is ML and they do have great driving culture. Any of the 3 would be be big wins for me, but since you're looking to make a change, I think the F8 would be more similar to the 675 (both turbo, mid engine cars), but the 812 would bring a very different experience which you may appreciate.

Also, you may want to consider the recently released ML 750.

    Hope this is helpful.

I love getting the opinions of car enthusiasts like yourself with time behind the wheel of some mega cars.

If budget permitted it would be an 812 gts in my garage. I was hoping the 12 cylindri would hit the 812 gts prices hard but they haven't yet.

The 750 does nothing for me. I don't like the front end at all. If I went Mclaren would only go for an LT.

With Porsche I only go for the GT cars. The Gt3 touring and 911 ST are my favourites. Currently have an ST.

I love the 765 but some have advised the 675 is better for road use than the 765.? They say the 765 is just too much power for the road. I love the looks and fancy the spider big time. Big price delta vs the 675 as well.

When you say the F8 isn't as raw, what do you associate that with? Would an exhaust system and novitec springs change that?

I heard the 750 is more "LT" than the 720. Kinda weird for ML to do this, but I'd recommend checking it out.

I love Porsche and I miss my 991.2 MT GT3. I'd love to have a MT Touring and the ST must be amazing!

I've heard the 675 is even MORE raw than the 765. Do double check...

F8 is most definitely more "compliant" than the LTs. It's way quieter and comfortable, more elegant as well IMHO. I have done a few things to mine, to make it a bit more aggressive and racy (which is how I enjoy my cars the most):

    1) Lowered suspension
    2) Added the Pista stripe
Note: These two are purely aesthetics
    3) Full Novitec exhaust system, inc 100CEL sport cats
    4) Pagid race pads and race brake fluid

With all these mods, my F8 is now a little closer to a Pista experience, although the big one (weight savings) will never be accomplished.

Lastly, in my experience the Ferrari spiders are not as rigid as the MLs given that the latter has a carbon tub. But in order to really feel this, you need to drive it hard, of course.

She is beautiful and if I buy one, those mods would be on my list for sure.

How do you feel about the Novitec system having owned it for a while?

IMHO, absolute must-have for the F8. Too quiet in stock mode. But with the Novitec system it's not too loud either. Also I added the Tectronic piece to open and close the valves. 0 issues with CEL or even at the dealer. And lastly, it's a bolt-on system so you can always reverse it back to stock.

    Expensive... but totally worth it.

Curious, how much do the novitec valves help?

I have the non valved novitec and starting to feel really bad for my neighbors on cold start. If I start the car with valves closed, is it a noticeable difference?

Stock wheels and added spacers? I know as you lower like on Novi springs the stock wheels get a sunk in look due to more positive offset than aftermarket wheels.

@BrntRubber go check out Novitec channel on YouTube. They have a few video's this year with a group of guys in Dubi. Ferrari and Mclaren are big there, Ferrari more so. Looks like the car culture is seriously awesome there. Lots of open road high speed driving in the desert and so really good track events. Here is one of the few videos >

I've only owned a 488 and now a F8. I have road around in the cars you mention and for a Spider the Mclaren has less body shake with the top open than the Ferrari. The Mclaren carbon tub is much more rigid and lighter weight. With exhaust systems the F8 and 812 sound much better than McLaren's to me.

675LT is freaking awesome. I almost bought one and still think about my test drive to this day. It was like someone took my GT3, turned the steering feel and suspension up to 11, made it comfortable but more raw and then put a Pista engine in it. Oh and the top came off too.

Love my F8 and it surprised me how engaging it is, but a 675 LT it is not (which could be a good thing).

Agreed. I love my F8T but I have to admit the 600LT is the better track weapon and is more capable. Still, my heart beats louder for the F8... ;)

I'd also recommend Scuderia Parts channel. Dylan (present here in the chat) does a phenomenal job with all things Novitec. Here's an example:

Correct. I haven't added the spacers in the F8 because I only lowered it about 10mm. In the GTS I did add Novitec sport springs and lowered it 15mm so I went for the spacers are well. See picture attached:

Yes, I think the valve controller is a must have, sorry. At least it is for me.

I added the Novitec systems to both the F8 and the GTS. The F8 needed it badly. The GTS, while it sounds great stock, with the Novitec it's like an old school F1, so it was a YOLO thing for me... :). But with both I want / need the ability to close valves, more so in the case of the GTS.

Having said this, with the F8 + Novitec I never have real big issues. Cold start is a bit loud but as soon as I close the valves and shift to 1st gear it goes away quickly. In general it's never too much for me (and I don't like being obnoxious). With the GTS I'm actually about to go back to stock, simply due to your point - cold start and even pass bys are a just too much. I've enjoyed it for almost a year and even tracked it a couple times (see links below), but I'm ready to go back to stock now. I'll keep it just in case I want to go back in the future, BTW.

I have both 675 and 765 spider. I personally think the 765 is the better road car. Don’t get me wrong- I really like the 675. It’s brilliant. But I think 765 is just unbeatable in terms of power. And while I don’t have an F8- I did have a Pista. Power wise the Ferrari was slower than 765 but faster than 675. The f8 is a great car but “soft” relative to the Pista and definitely softer than the LTs.

I’m not saying soft in a negative way about the f8- but it’s just different. Not as raw as Pista for sure. Just drive them all and make your decision.

    totally agree.

I wanted to buy the Pista back in the day but I felt I already had one in the 600LT and so I went for the 430 Scuderia instead (in order to find a truly different driving experience from the LT, plus more economical option too)
