Final - $170K. Kind of an uneventful ending to this one - for a car that, while not perfect, is still a very nice 550. Could be that bringing it across the border held some back from participating. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1999-ferrari-550-maranello-37/#comments-anchor
This one has an interesting story to it. Came from an estate... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-550-maranello-43/#comments-anchor
As a corvette man I assume Terry can appreciate this…. @tazandjan I absolutely cannot have any more unused toys but I still want our resident corvette race consultant to tell us how amazing…or not…this is….. @fatbillybob I was drooling over the $69k Challenge 360 but for hammer reliable big boy power man this hits the spot…..last buyer flaked at $60k…. SO MANY BEAUTIFUL LADIES and so little time… https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2009-chevrolet-corvette-z06-19-2/#comments-anchor friggen BaT power seller 911r’s milkshakes brings all the boys to the yard.
Dude. Get back on track. You're being attracted to bright, shiny things. Focus, man! ;-) As a side-note, the C6 is the last Corvette that I held any interest in. Has something to do with round taillights I think...
@308 GTB the 355 is amazing….would you ever be seduced to trade out and into a more recent challenge car?
Image Unavailable, Please Login Lime Rock Park - The Uphill You like it, huh? I'm just getting good with it, Eric. And with all the upgrades, there's more uncharted territory to explore. {Yes, all the original take-offs - CF seats, shocks, actuators, springs, and the fuel sampler are in storage) I'm going to keep it a while longer. Barry By the way, I drove this 1992 Miata over 160,000 miles... Image Unavailable, Please Login I loved that car!
Eric- That C6 Corvette is a bit too modified for me. About all I did to my late Z06s (3 C5s and 2 C6s) was add aluminum pedals and have the gas pedal raised to make heel and toeing easier. I think I still have a set of aluminum pedals down in the garage.
Here's a pair to draw to. A bit unusual to see two running at the same time like this. Both 2000 MY... https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-550-maranello-43/#comments-anchor https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-ferrari-550-maranello-45/
The high option Canadian Grigio Titanio is off to a great start, already at $175k. That one is going to do very well I would think. 550s seem to be coming out of the woodwork these days what with persistent generally strong selling prices over the past year or more. Time will tell how long this Maranello market rally lasts.
I’m surprised that bidder came so strong on the Canadian one but that guy is clearly a no joking around dude.
Not an auction, but in light of the recent auctions (closing around 170-180) what do folks think of this? Is the ask too high? I see the interior stickies, cracks on front spoiler, and wheel bubbling. Not sure how hard the bubbling is to fix. (I saw on this forum that someone injected gorilla glue beneath the leather - I assume there’s a better way.) Note, the carfax damage is apparently a valet scraping bumper on a curb/wall. Seems well used for the miles and the asking price? https://www.fusionmotorco.com/vehicles/1349/2000-ferrari-550-maranello
Says on the page. 20k one owner, though listed on carfax as two since it was retitled to same owner (divorce)
$208,950 is not a stratospheric ask. And "one owner" is attractive. 20,777 miles starts to put it in the "driver" class though. If it checks out otherwise, I don't think anyone would get hurt around that price. Color is boring IMHO though... Never know what the actual "sell price" is without an accepted offer. ;-)
agree on the miles. One owner is generally nice, as is the fact it was always in Beverly Hills - but one owner is only really nice if that owner took good care of it and kept records. Apparently this owner didn’t keep a single record… which seems strange. Should be able to pull some from BH Ferrari but still. Who doesn’t keep records?
Surely yes. But surely also that should bring the price down... (And try explaining that to the next buyer down the line…)
I wouldn't buy a Ferrari without records unless it was vintage. I need to see what has been fixed and what has not been fixed.
Fell off the truck?! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2003-ferrari-575m-maranello-11/ @hdprofits just dropped a bomb on this auction. I was an early bidder. I like the car, but I am 3000 miles away, so this is enough to scare me off. Get the popcorn.
I’m a shade tree and not a qualified mechanic but I’m going to see and put my hands on the car on Saturday….
If you are able to get the car up in the air and get the shielding off the bottom of the car, that would really clarify things.
I would think the chances of getting the car in the air and belly pan off is close to zero without having a PPI done. I was very forward with the owner that I don't want to waste his time but if I could see the car in person I'd really appreciate it. That continued back and forth about falling off a truck is a serious allegation for sure.
