Tyler, many years ago after changing the timing belts on my 308, I also needed to add shims on the AC compressor because the new AC belt was too tight. If you look at #6 those spacers shown above have a slot in them that you can easily make. I simply used the proper sized standard washers and stacked maybe six into a vice and cut the slots into same all at once and smoothed all at the same time with a file and rounded the opening a little to look as original. The slot accommodates easy adjustment of the belt. EDoug

Yes I saw those too. Same as the ones used for the rear-top engine mount to body looks like. Given that they are notched, leads me to believe i'll be removing the whole damn thing AGIAIN instead of just loosening the bottom bracket and sliding it down enough to add washers. I've got a handful here ready to go.

Seems like it would be near impossible to get those on without falling out all over the place, while the compressor is in place. Especially the lower one closest to the firewall. I am just going to remove it and put 4-5 washers on, stick it back it. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll revisit the issue next garage session.

Tyler, IIRC I think I figured out how many I needed and lightly glued them together (nothing crazy maybe even rubber cement) with the slots aligned. EDoug

I thought of that. Small dab of crazy glue. Then i realized the time i would spend doing that, would be more than just dropping the lower bracket and putting the whole washer in. So, that's what I did. Put 4 on each stud. Much better. Now the tensioner pulley actually has a job. Thanks for the help as always!

Next up is the hard fuel lines, coils install and the figure out why no crank. Ugghhg. I hate electrical. Hopefully its the alarm preventing power to something. Ripping that junk out first.

Does anyone have a picture of the back of their ignition switch? Or a clear drawing of what color wire and how many go to each terminal? I think that will help. Im going to start by removing all aftermarket alarm, speaker and radio wiring.

You may want to check with "afterburner" here on FC - he has re-drawn a lot of the Ferrari wiring diagrams in color and with great detail - in your case, it would definitely be worth the reasonable investment in terms of saving time and aggravation.

Also, this is probably not something you are considering, but it would likely "simplify" (counter intuitive i know) the process greatly if you removed the wiring harnesses and laid them out on the floor then assessed what has been done and match them to the drawings from afterburner and the wiring diagrams in the OM. Then proceed to make your repairs and corrections...

Thank You. Ive got this whole book already in a binder printed out. Its not that its not useful, but its useless to me. I hate wiring and wiring diagrams. Further, i don't see any wiring colors noted on that diagram. I need real life pics or "This wire goes here" with arrows kind of help.

No. I'm not removing the entire harness. Nor am I paying for another book I cant figure out, that doesn't match what I have. I need first hand help. Not a wild set of suggestions.

I need a pic of the back of the ignition switch with the correct wires on it. Then i'll remove the alarm and radio and all that mess, THEN, start looking at what loose ends i have.

calm down buddy - based on your response, you seem like you don't want to learn and take advice from people who have been down the same road....maybe your mommy can give you some "first hand help"...

Below is a screen shot of some of afterburner's drawings (very reasonable cost given the value) which clearly address your prior post where you whine "Further, i don't see any wiring colors noted on that diagram. I need real life pics or "This wire goes here" with arrows kind of help"

Do it your way and good luck!

Color codes are plainly marked in Italian abbreviations. There is a guide at the front of the section.
The car is electrically very simple and the factory book breaks it down in systems.

It will make it easier to determine what is not original and remove it first.

Removing harnesses is typically a big deal. When building a car it is the second component installed.

My beef is people like you who overcomplicate everything and think that no one can work on a car without spending thousands on manuals, paying shops to do it for you, hiring "Qualified" people etc etc. Ive built many many cars and done everything you can think of on a vehicle. Multiple times. Kinda like the guy in here that wouldn't tell me the part numbers of the alternator components and i should just pay him to do it. Welp. I got it done, and posted the part numbers for everyone else. See? Thats helping. Now, do you have a pic of the back of your ignition switch or are you just here to sell books? I appreciate the help. Honestly, and this will get done. I promise you it wont be because I bought manuals from someone. This is the internet. Its not 1950 anymore.

Thank You. I vaguely remember seeing that. I'll check when I get home. I pic would really be the quickest and easiest way to determine what's happening at the switch.

Agree 100% ...I tried to qualify that suggestion by saying "this is probably not something you are considering" and "simplify" (somewhat facetious) and "counter intuitive I know"

Maybe the suggestion should have been to remove the dash to see everything easier...or maybe the OP should have eliminated the alarm and radio wires first then posted pics and asked for help

Taking the dash out or removing the harness might be the worst advice I have ever heard in my life. I'm trying to identify what is and isn't supposed to be there before I start removing the aftermarket stuff. Hence the before pics.

Again, just need a pic of the back of the ignition switch. Should be easy for you to get that for me seeing that dash and harness removals flow so effortlessly from your suggestion box. :)

Why don't I just come over and fix it for you?

There are enough people around here with a bad attitude.

    Good luck with the car.

I don't sell books but I have completely disassembled panteras and ferraris (including the wiring harnesses) down to the bones, on limited budgets where the only work farmed out was painting and machine work. I do however read books including wiring diagrams...You seem to think you are the first person to ever do a restoration and when you don't get an answer you like you start in with the bitching and whining which makes you seem like a jerk. I was trying to help you...
