Because we have several threads about value/Dino’s being sold etc.... I don’t think it is fair to an amazing NO RESERVE DINO ON BAT that is being sold by one of our own/well known to us Dino folks and the state of things. Currently (6/17/24), Dino 04798 is up. Both the current owner and previous owner have been great F-Chatters for years. I don’t think it makes sense or is fair to lump that into the “Cher” thread or other previous threads. Let’s start fresh and give this Dino the thread it deserves. We can also talk about other market trends/etc.... I will start.... the market has been a bit soft as is for every thing in the US, but good Dino’s are still bringing strong money. Most don’t hit the public market and LOTS of Euro based Dino’s are sailing to the US. These “Europe” Dino’s don’t even get marketed in the US. If any one has a worn driver/project Dino, LOTS AND LOTS of buyers for these IMMEDIATELY!
Speaking from personal experience, finding a “driver”/project is pretty much impossible at a price that makes sense. What gets even more interesting is how few cars there are, even with a crazy price.

I still have the door panels and fire wall. I sold the seats several months back to a Dino “project” missing seats. I am in Houston..... So I loved the color. Let’s call it “Luv you Blue” interior.... A Dino in absolute best Red/White/Blue configuration... Captain America/Evel Knievel
For reference: from World Upholstery, I paid $834 for a full set of Wilton Wool carpets. now? $1995.00 Superformance UK high compression pistons - $715.50 - now? $1640.00 Seats - complete from Re-originals were under $4K, now? $8900.00 So it's not just the cars that have jumped in value. D
Hello everyone and Shawn, thanks for the thread! I feel privileged and honored that Dean has placed his trust in our shop, www.automotive-international.com to sell this beauty. We have spent the last few months going thru the car and getting it ready for sale, and I can ensure the next owner that he will be getting an amazing car! I have sold 5 Dino's over the last couple years and this one is probably the strongest running car of the bunch! I am sure it had something to do with the engine rebuild that Dave had Algar do back in the day! Good luck to any potential bidders and should anyone have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
I think well north of $450K is the deserved range for this car. I hope it brings the $$. NR shows a full commitment to finding a new home, and there's nothing more epic then selling and KNOWING what you have to offer is a great car. The car tells the story itself and this is a good one.
I'm not so sure about that. In some respects this was a stronger example: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-ferrari-dino-246-gt-4/ Full Jon Gunderson restoration of a Euro spec M Series. We will see what the market says. Hats-off to all involved with this lovely Dino. GLWTA!
Mr. Market has spoken. For the doubters about BaT, I will avow that my car sold for $450 to a total stranger. No shills. No fakery. True data point.
One of Jon's cars is on BaT...usual silly comments, but poised at $310K with 7 days to go. Early bidders? Dino, must have a reserve that is commensurate to a 'new' car. 700K at least. Break a leg Jon!
A couple of points of info, the Dave/Dean (UroTrash) beloved Dino for decades is a VERY NICE Dino. It sold for strong money, we can all talk about it. The BUYER is going to pay $450+fees WAY HIGHER THAN WE WOULD HAVE GUESSED se real years ago. We all know this is an awesome Dino. What OMGJON does is a completely different animal. This is the reason I wanted to start another thread.
Selling your prized possession must be heart wrenching but getting a good price and knowing it is going to a good home is some comfort! I have the same dilemma about my car, after 25 years it will be a sad day to sell her...........its family!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Couldn't agree with you more, Tony. 04124, owned since new, sympathetically refreshed around ten years ago. Would not consider selling, but handing it down, I don't know if it is an option. Do Millennials want these cars?
$400K... My Millennials certainly do. The issue though, is that they were raised in this sort of environment. Really ignore if it makes the difference, yet, yours is a very good point. Regards, Alberto
So I'm going to say "yes" but not for the same reason we want these cars. In their thinking cars like the Dino will be simply investments and will want them for that reason as well as a status symbol. Driving them? Not so much. The future is bright as the generations turn over but over the years, fewer and fewer Dino miles will be driven.
