The magnesium 7R case for the 2.7L engines was introduced in 1973 for the RS 2.7. It has extra webbing to add torsional rigidity for the competition based engines, and that filtered down into the productions engines too. Most of the prior 2.4L engines also has this 7R case, however the spigots were smaller. You could take that engine reliably to 2.5, and they were raced in this configuration, successfully. The 7R 2.7 magnesium case was at its reliable displacement limit already. The move to aluminium (But still a 7R case) was really to allow the engine to run reliably as a 3.0L in endurance events. That's why the 3.0L RS and RSR have the aluminium case. 930, 934 and 935 are all aluminium cases for this reason too. Since what ever you put that engine in will be mis-matched, I'd buy a new case in magnesium and build a new engine: https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/2023/products/porsche-classic-new-magnesium-crankcases-for-early-911-31513.html
So what are the best of the current 992s most suitable for events like GG,GAD and the now-famous GHAB event?
Bugger me! Almost perfect spelling and grammar! And a compound adjective thrown in for good measure! Well done!
My business partner has an "AI " company it's booming so much that the "investment-mortgage group" is now of secondary interest, as we advance one of the AI guys will process for me.
Interesting very early turbo in need of tlc https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1975-porsche-930-turbo-manual/SSE-AD-17485840 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
What a mess and so overpriced by about 100k. Apart from the rarity of it being a 3.0-you wouldn't want it -I often drove a friend's 3.0 turbo including a trip to South Aust , apart from the grunt a period Carrera 3.0 or an SC is a far nicer car to own and drive on GG Style events. A Turbo 3.0 is at its best at Coffee and cake mornings to be admired ..
YOUTUBE is doing my head IN, between wanting a 992 model . I keep jumping from a manual T to a GT3 touring PDK then manual to a Turbo S It needs to be a keeper and suitable for GG style events,I'm thinking NOW GT3 touring with non-racing buckets and no rear seat and manual
Get out of it!, I used to date an older lady who was engaged to one of those guys, apparently his heroin addiction came between them [emoji51] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat

The reviews are all over the place ,Harry M likes 'em, Catchpole is critical , I think as daily they work ,but I keep coming back to a Gt3
