I'm curious if there are any 360 or 430 owners who also own a modern Carrera T. As I'm approaching the point in my life where I can purchase a true sports car, I'm now appreciating Porsches more than ever. I've always been a Ferrari fan boy my whole life but I can't deny that my favorite car I ever drove was a Porsche (Carrera GT). I've driven hundreds of Ferraris so I have plenty of experience in 360s & 430s but I've never driven a 991.2 Carrera T or a 992 Carrera T. If there are any owners here please share your experience & how it compares to the Ferrari. I've been out of the sports car world for a while. I think the last Porsche I drove was a 991.2 Turbo S, which needless to say was very impressive! Since I probably can't afford both I would probably rather have whichever car provides the more enjoyable driving experience. The Carrera T seems to be right in the same price range as the 360s I'm looking at and the car intrigues me very much.

I had two F430’s for 11 years total. An 05 for 2 years and an 07 for 9 years. I now have a 21 F8 for 1.5 years. I just bought a 23 Carrera T 3 weeks ago despite never liking Porsche… like AT ALL. Was an impulse daily driver purchase. There is ZERO comparison to the 430 or the F8 or to any Ferrari. Completely different cars for entirely different purposes.

I started off surprised how much i liked the Carrera or the 911 or the 992 or the T or the Porsche or the .1 whatever the F I'm supposed to call it. but its fading fast. probably because of Rennlist and the incredible bore that they are over there. Acting as if it's some performance car.

Anyway, the biggest positive i can give it is the build quality and the fit and fitment inside and out. Quite impressive. Better than any other car. Other than that, it’s pretty blah. Sounds kinda cute when it blips the throttle on downshifts, not fast at all, with aerokit and sport design bumpers and in racing yellow, it looks decent I guess.

And lastly, it’s is grossly overpriced. It is a 70-80k car TOPS, not 150k…. But whatever, too late to cry about it now.

911s are fantastic daily drivers, they're not so special that you worry too much about getting some little ding or something, or attract too much wierdo attention.

I guess my post sounds pretty pretentious or elitist so sorry about that. But it’s a good car obviously, just not ‘comparable’ to Ferrari etc. I never intended for it to compete or compare with the Ferrari. Just wanted a daily driver that made me smile and enjoy commute to work etc and it serves that purpose, so mission accomplished I guess.

Ahh yes... good old RL. To be fair there were some pretty entertaining "train wreck" threads over there. Haven't posted over there since I got rid of my 991.2 GT3 RS. Had to make sure I said it properly a remnant from the RL days. I had the same handle RoyalPink over there as well.

.. and to be fair, I think I pretty much started out with a post saying I can’t believe people bring their Porsches to a track. (Except the GT3 etc) and that it’s just weird. And how after driving mine for a few weeks, nothing about it made me think of performance or speed or racing or tracking…… so, I’m sure I made instant friends with that one.

And in my normal instigating style, I’m pretty sure I called those checkered seat inserts an abomination and told people that I hope no one orders seats like that cos they’re ugly AF.

You know, my normal light em up kind of threads and posts. They aren’t amused [emoji23]

Look at some and drive them. I think you will be impressed. As has been stated, they are not a Ferrari. Different cars with a different focus.
I owned 5 Ferraris over the past 30 years. Loved them all. Just got tired of the Ferrari BS. On my 2nd liquid cooled 911. Located 30 miles north of Boston, within an hour of 6 Porsche dealers so I see a lot of 911s.
Price has increased substantially over the past 4 years. Demand exceeds supply.

It's not a T.. but I have a 991.1 base Carrera and a 360 in the garage... the 360 is so much more analog and dare I say more "vintage" feel than the Porsche. I love rowing the gears in both cars, but the 360 is just on another level. The rub is the 360 is now 25 years old and the maintenance is higher, though I don't beat on the car.. and she's treated me well. As good as my 986 Boxster I'd say on reliability.

Though I will say, all the 911's I see are PDK. Mine is a stick and it brings a smile to my face every time I drive it. Get a stick 911. :)

I've had plenty of porsches and like the brand though!

I just think with the 'T' it's mostly marketing and a placebo effect from having thinner glass/ less sound insulation

for porsche to literally call the T a lightweight version of the 911 when it's 5kg lighter is nuts imo

Ya I agree. Mine is probably heavier than a regular Carrera cos mine HAS the rear seats added back in, has glass roof with sunroof, has 18 way power seats, has PDK AND has the aerokit. All of which, completely defeat the purpose of being a lighter T [emoji23] Actually now that I think more about it, I think it’s heavier than a G wagon at this point.

In other words, I have lightweight glass, a lighter battery, less sound deadening material and 6 bags of cement in the bonnet.

Thank you. Analog is what I prefer. I have tons of seat time driving 360s but new cars always seem tempting for me. I've certainly never spent anywhere near $100k on any car before so I just want to make sure I make the correct decision. I am still amazed by the Turbo S I drove a few years ago but I certainly wouldn't refer to it as analog. I remember back in 2005 when I first ever drove a Ferrari & it was the sound & feeling of the of everything that I enjoyed so much. The clicking of the gated shifter was so entertaining. I don't ever remember being impressed with the horsepower, just everything else.

I've driven hundreds of 911's and very few Ferrari's. 911's are some of the best engineered and put-together sports cars, period. "Fast" is an entirely relative term anyway.

That being said, they completely lack emotion, Ferrari's have that in abundance and is what drives most enthusiasts toward the brand once they experience it.

911, perfect daily. Ferrari, perfect for occasion.

We could spice things up and get Eric C to buy a Porsche and join RL. Heck, if that happened I buy one also to jump back in.
