Wonder if that insane Mercedes offer ($160 million/year) to Max has any truth to it

 

Reports of Mercedes and Max and all his people sitting down after Miami are coming out. I don’t think Mercedes need to present some incredible number as they have very good bargaining power with the 2026 rules being so different. Mercedes build a new power unit better than anyone which is quite a bargaining chip

Max has signed on for the 24 hours of nurburgring virtual with his team, which is taking part at the same time as the Imola race this weekend.

Sidequests.

 

Yep, he's splitting between 4 other drivers I believe.

 

yup.

But people still say he doesn't enjoy racing

I'm pretty sure F1 is his sidequests at this point. Sim Racing is a much bigger challenge to him.

 

To be fair Max is an outstanding driver.
No doubts about this but sorry I absolutely disagree with doing parallel activities during a Formula One weekend.
Looks like :
1/ Formula One isn’t so difficult then why not doing something else at the same time?
This is hugely damaging for the sport image to my opinion.
2/ I perfectly know he’s not an arrogant driver but people discovering Formula One could very well believe it..
Fortunately Formula One remains a very competitive field and this GP could be a wake up call for Max and Red Bull..

 

F1 should take note and fix their ****ing sport then

I think Max was more proud of winning the 24 hr Sim race than the F1 race.

 

Max Verstappen now has a 30.7% career win percentage, overtaking Lewis Hamilton's 30.3% and making him the most prolific F1 race winner since Jim Clark (34.7%).

 

Ascari 40.06%, Fangio 47.06% ...

 

Which is a shame if true..

He was delighted winning this one with pain..

I think a pretty bizarre stat.

 

60 wins at the age of 26, that's insane.

 

He has an exceptional talent.

A pessimist would say he lost 25!

 

Mercedes continues to court Max:

CEO of Mercedes-Benz Ola Kallenius: "The best driver wants the best car, and it's our job to get together the best package. The cards will be reshuffled in 2026. That's a chance, so who knows?" "I think Max would look good in silver, no?"

 

We laugh at this but will we be shocked if such a move was to happen? Sooner or later the children leave home and move to places we cant predict lol

 

Max already stated he has no interest in moving and working to helping another team build. It may happen if he see's the team is at the top.
