Well Norris was just trying to overtake Max, nothing more, nothing less.
He didn’t deserve to be taken out of this race by Verstappen.
Maybe he should have done to Max the kind of move Max did to Charles in 2019 in the very same corner ?

 

Max gets especially aggressive at this track, perhaps part of it is the large turnout of Orange fans? I recall him giving Kimi an unkind tap out of Turn 3 earlier in his career.

IMO the problem is this new generation of drivers thinks they can just stick their nose in and their opponent “must” back off. They have this entitlement attitude that they can full send it without repercussions or push back. Then they cry on the radio.

Lol, I see the same style now on the kart track. I’m not saying anyone should take out their opponent but I don’t think they should yield and make it easier for them. Maybe I’m wrong because I was watching on my phone but it looked like on old school fight with equal blame to go around. Regardless it kept things interesting for once.

Not very encouraging for Ferrari, a podium only because the two leading cars crash... otherwise Sainz would have got his legendary 5th place. While Leclerc did not get help, the incident that put him out of the points was made more likely by his bad position on the grid.

More worrying thing is that Leclerc said after the race he hadn’t any pace during the race, even in free air.

Please, in the past 30 years I think this “contact” was tame. Stupid perhaps but far from egregious.

I love Lando but he should know better than to go toe to toe with Max in that way. All he had to do was be a bit more patient and he would have easily had him later. Emotion got the best of both of them.

Honestly that incident reminded me of sim racing, which they both are into. Of course the major difference being in the real world you don’t get away without repercussions.

The absolute worst part of all this IMO was having to endure Smug getting it gift wrapped.

 

Again you see that under pressure all drivers make mistakes, Verstappen too. Yet, even in a ****ty race he scored points, got a penalty without any real consequence and has a bigger margin over Norris, so not really a bad result.

 

Smug lol? He inherited a win due to idiocy and ego and a total LACK of skill up front. This guy knows LOL

He didn't force Max off. He went for the gap, made the pass, stayed on track. Max went off and gained an advantage.

I don't agree with the track limits rules, but as they stand, Max should have given the place back.
