A couple of days ago, Manzoni posted a picture we have seen.... I found that intriguing....

I hope we head this direction.

dumb question but why do they test the cars out on public roads in the first place? is it required legally?

As opposed to track only testing, I can imagine a a number of advantages, you want to get a feel of the car in real traffic, real roads, stop, go, turn, park... issues might come up that wouldn't in track only testing. Even if you just want to test mileage and not performance I guess it's less boring doing 100 km in the autostrada than 30 or 40 laps to Fiorano (they've probably already done hundreds).

I don't think it is legally required, at all.

With the recent Bugatti reveal and spy pics of the Huracan successor, I'm only hoping the next Ferrari hypercar doesn't show more tire threading in the back. I first saw it with aftermarket bumpers on exotics, but never got the hype around it.

If the new hyper car is anything like this, I will never complain about v6 again :)

If I understood correctly, you can find some of that in the F12 TRS, at least in one of its iterations. I don't mind that feature. Looks racey.

I totally agree - The VGT has been referenced to several times by Manzioni recently , on top of the 499 race winning recent status and back to back wins now …. I’m guessing that a Bhp of over 1250 with a sub 2 ton weight and lots of aero cut outs , wrap around type cockpit and ‘finned/ribbed” spine will be the basic design starting points . Active aero and wing are likely too … The name , I’m sure , will have a Le Mans /LM component to it ..
Ingenere and Isot and co will be very busy for the next few months …..

    Sub 2 tons weight ?
They really need to target 1600 kgs with fluids to be credible.
This is not a Bugatti ..

I’d love that too but it won’t be anywhere near 1600kgs ‘wet’ imho… yes , it’s not a Bugatti and isn’t meant to be .

We don 't know about the amount of batteries, but the SF90 Stradale, without a carbon chassis-body and a heavier TT V8 is 1700+ wet, so I can imagine the hypercar being lighter than that.

LaFerrari with the bigger V12 wet was what 1670ish. Lighter Engine, new more powerful and Lighter E motors / Batteries it doesn't have any reason to be heavier than the laferrari

Given we never use up sf90 or 296 battery all the way down to zero in any condition if the mode is qualifying, I guess we can safely say 296 with 70kg battery pack configuration will do the job even with front motors added.

Oil cooled battery tech will be used for higher output, I imagine, with smaller volume.

So, 296 is 1430kg. Add two front motors each 15 kg. I don’t see the car dry weight over 1500kg so, my guess is the car will be less than Laferrari.

My understanding is 3 e-motors no idea on battery size. But being a V6TT it will not need to run as an ev like the tourbillion does

Well in that case with more modern tech F250 with its V6TT and 3 e-motors Should be under 1600kgs with a full tank too maybe even 1499 - 1550kgs
