Red Bull legit could have got Alonso or Sainz if they really wanted to. The moment Hamilton stated his move to Ferrari, the driver market opened right up and they had options on a bunch of others too.

Even at the risk of hurting their career or legacy, they would be out of their minds to turn it down. As it stands now, Alonso is stuck with a sinking ship in Aston Martin and Sainz's best opportunity is Williams is back near the very bottom of the grid.

With insights, this is absolutely remarkable what Red Bull has achieved in the sport since they have bought the former Jaguar team ..

At 43 something, Alonso isn't going to launch a second career, is he ?
So, it's better for him to stay put at Aston to spend his last few years quietly, rather than having Marko as (tor)mentor !

As for Sainz, he has been courted by Audi for many years, and well before the Hamilton bombshell.
I don't know if he can't make up his mind or likes to play hard to get, but his hesitation could cost him dear.
Audi needs to finalise very soon (their sponsors pressure them) and become impatient.
At Mercedes, it looks like Toto Wolff has already lost patience.
Then the rumour that Newey was going to Williams got him thinking in another direction.
Now even Alpine (!!) would be considered in hope they have Mercedes engines in 2026 and Flavio Briatore !!
Sainz keep them waiting, and I think that's a mistake. Leaving it to the last minute, and saying he hasn't decided yet may be foolish.
We are already in July, and most of the negotiations have to be finalised at that period, for the teams to check with their sponsors, and plan ahead for the following season. At decision time, Sainz may not be in the "driving seat" (pun intended) he thinks he is.

Yep, they got tired of relying on a POS engine supplier for the turbo-hybrid era. Might as well do it yourself.

Red Bull bought Jaguar to have an entry in F1, but immediatly started to reorganise the team and invest heavily in installations, equipment, a technical team and new management. They were ambitious and brought a new mentality in F1, admire them for that. .
Within a few years, Red Bull ceased to be a "garagist", but could compete against factory teams.
Something the new owners of Williams and Sauber failed to do when they bought these teams.

Any driver regardless of age will want to be in the best car possible. If their priorities aren't for winning or getting the best result possible then they should retire. There is no way that a driver (that is already rich mind you) takes a seat in a back market team over the top team.

That's what you want to believe.
However, some did the move. Vettel, Alonso (!), Massa, Bottas, Ricciardo, Coulthard, J.Villeneuve, Irvine, Alboretto, Berger, Piquet, Ickx, Amon, Regazzoni, or Fittipaldi among others, are perfect examples of drivers who accepted drives in "lesser teams", after spending some years in top teams.

I can perfectly understand that, at his age and at the end of a long career, Fernando Alonso don't want to put up with the atmosphere at Red Bull, the constant pressure from Marko, the permanent comments in the media, the aggravation from Max no doubt, the BS that follows, and working for a team that is essentially pulling for their leading driver, and never, ever, is satisfied by the performance of the #2.
Alonso is probably more comfortable driving as Number One at Aston where he is certainly well paid; plenty of time to enjoy the driving, not too much pressure, and a good performance from time to time. What is there not to like ?
Only fools like Peter Pan and Hamilton believe in eternal youth.

Most of whom you mentioned didn't leave by choice. Ricciardo I suppose you could say did. Though he did leave for a huge ton of money, #1 status, and a team with a huge budget. Vettel left, but the 2014 Red Bull wasn't exactly a top team. While the 2014 Ferrari was a dud, their 2015 car was second best, so not a bad move by him. Plus a lot of drivers have a fantasy of bringing Ferrari back to a championship, just as Schumacher did. We don't see that at the end of one's career. So I don't think Alonso has aspirations of a long term plan in bringing AMR to the top. Alonso certainly has a history of bad choices, however the 2007-2013 McLaren's were not just winners, but some championship contenders. I suppose when he first started talks with them he had some sort of belief they would rise to the top again? They made quite a few better cars than Ferrari during that time. Surely he didn't expect Honda and McLaren to be so terrible.

Sainz legacy is one who took on good drivers and did incredibly well. Victories at Ferrari. So he doesn’t have a title etc. 99% do not have a title. Leaving the joke politics of F1 is also an option. He drove for Ferrari and did well. He has ZERO to prove. Life is short and he is already in the good side of the F1 books!!

His most noteworthy moment in F1 was the pitlane fire at Hockenheim.

Agree on everything, do you believe Hamilton’s next year in Ferrari will be a painful one for him ?

It could be a brutal reality check for him. I expect Leclerc being faster.

"Hypercar" is a misnomer for this Red Bull RB17.
It doesn't seem to conform to the technical definition of the FIA Hypercar category created to race in endurance.
It's more of a spectacular halo car for Red Bull, for collectors and the occasional track day enthusiasts.

Looks a non functional model. Still, the Valkyrie looked better.
