First place British GP trophy is impressive. other tracks give a cheap looking wooden trophy. can others post pix of 1st place trophies from other gp tracks?
Uggggh. The worst trophy ever produced on the F1 calendar in its history of F1. Totally classless and nothing to do with F1. IMO, the artist made a mockery of what an actual F1 trophy should be in his home country.
I'm not sure what's worse: Paul Ricard or whatever that fiasco is they call a trophy. I honestly think I would put it on eBay (if allowed) and buy a car with the money.
I’m not 100% certain on this, but I think I read a while back that Bernie Ecclestone’s ex wife got Paul Ricard as part of the divorce. Then, as F1 looked to return, she called on her current boyfriend / partner / spouse / whatever who just happened to be a sculptor, artist, whatever to design the gorilla on the roof, and make it the trophy. Perhaps she really thought it was a good idea, or more likely it was an “up yours” to Bernie.
