I would run a separate wire from B+ directly to the positive of your battery. Then put a voltmeter on your battery to see if it's charging. Or just put your meter on B+ and a ground
Did this thread get hijacked? by Trobaso27 looks like it was started by zwoemba Unless this is another general 308 problems thread
I did not hijack any thread I started this thread about issues I have been having with my alternator. I have a good alternator but not charging my battery.
does anyone know about the 1983 wiring diagram showing the D+ from the alternator going to another alternator before going to fuse panel and ignition. My alternator is good had it rebuilt and tested but it's not charging my battery still.
Thank you for the information. I will be hooking the battery up tonight and giving it a go. Hopefully all goes well.
My engine is has a rough idle at cold start and when it’s hot what needs to be adjusted. Is it the actual idle or could it be a vacuum hose. The idle is constantly rough sounds like the engine wants to die.
Does anyone know if it's just a simple idle adjust and what should the rpm be running at. I have them at about 1100rpm right now so the engine does not sound like it will die out. Plus the accelerator pedal had some play in it before it started to accelerate and now it's better. I am wondering if over time the accelerator cable started to get some slack in it. If anyone has any thoughts on this please let me know.
1983 Ferrari 308 Gts/QV US. Has anyone experienced the spark plug boots ant extenders falling off the spark plugs. I feel like pressure, or something is building up and popping them off my plugs. The spark plugs and extenders are brand new but the wires may still be original for all I know. I started noticing them after I started driving it for the first time this year. Would anyone know why this is happening???????
I don’t know why it occurs but I remember seeing a video a few years back in which they pierced the boot and put a piece of spray nozzle extender (red plastic straw on WD40 etc. containers) in to equalize the pressure. I’ll see if I can find the video.
Are you sure that you have the correct length extenders? I'm having a vague recollection of prior discussions about (slightly) different length extenders for different V8 F models (and would be easy for an apprentice at a parts supplier to restock the wrong part into the right bin) --- just a thought...
I would greatly appreciate it if you could fine the video. That is what I am thinking that there is pressure building up in the chamber.
Yes, I have the correct extenders. they were the same length as the one's I took out and I talked to the Ferrari parts Distributer before I purchased them. There are only two kings sold from what I saw. the Red for the Euro model and the Black for the US model.
I put 2 spaces in between https: and the //m so you can just type it in if there’s something going on with the website loading videos. It comes up on my phone for what it’s worth. https: //m.youtube.com/watch?v=fVKtpWjW9CU
Well, you should let the official F part supplier (Maranello Classic Parts) know because they show that euro 308QV and US 308QV use the same black 115647 Plug Extender. My recollection is the 308i-2V use a different length extender so thought that that might have been wrongly used before or now. Please forgive me for suggesting that you might want to do some searching for prior threads discussing the actual extender lengths - I won't bother you again.
