Dear Ferraristas, Although probably been discussed before. I would like kindly to ask you if back then, there was a factory option to deliver 550 ‘ s with a 3 pipe exhaust brand Koenig. Despite having all documentation since new, checked VIN number, I couldn’t confirm if it left the factory with these as optional or not. Personally, I am not a big fun. It sounds very good but to me it looks weird. I was planning to install a Tubi unit, but been lazy. Any information will be much appreciated. Foto attached. Thank you very much in advance for your help and kindness. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Definitely not a factory option (Tubi either) and the idea originated with the 365 GT4 Boxer Berlinetta. The 4.4 liter BB also had 6 taillights to match, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
As long as Fabio makes his beautiful exhaust mufflers (and systems)…I’m not sure why anyone would use anything else. Remote control open valves is the best. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
May I kindly ask you a picture fitted on your car? Will check if they are available in Spain. Thanks in advance.
He is Italian. I don’t recall what city he lives in. His instagram is solid. No affiliation other than he has been very nice and friendly to me and I’m very happy with his product. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks odd but if you are happy with the sound, leave it on and save the money for the next belt change.
As Taz mentioned, those are the aftermarket Keonig mufflers/silencers. Definitely not factory. Be very careful with Tubi. I could not get rid of mine fast enough! Too much drone and they sounded just awful. I now have Fabio's setup and it is great. Fabio makes them in several versions as well, if you don't like the HGTC dual tip design. His prices are quite reasonable and generally beats most everyone else new.
I would like as close as possible to factory looks and better sound of course. I go quite often to Italy, so will check with Fabio ))
I should add I recently heard/saw a the Keonig triple pipe and its sound reminded me of Tubi or Larini…lots down low, definitely NOT the “F1” sound that’s become popular as of late.
