355 Is there something missing on my car?

Hi,
I wonder if there is something missing on my car.

On this pic there is 2 threaded studs.
Why are they're here? Something is missing?

Those look like mounts for the optional acoustic panel

Thanks, I'm glad nothing is missing, but I still don't understand the purpose of this accoustic shield?

Why would I need such a thing?

 

It shields the clutch from the exhaust. The Challenge cars have it.

 

You don’t. You only need them if you are bothered by the brackets hanging down.

 

I’m pretty sure that’s a different part. The acoustic panel is under the sump area.

 

I believe the item is no longer available with no after-market reproductions. I would run without them and preserve the original. Install only for pics or during a sale.

Right. The heat shield (#4) shields the clutch from the exhaust. It also acts as an air scoop to ventilate the clutch via holes drilled into the clutch housing...

After a while the silver paint flakes off but, surprisingly, the thin fiberglass heat shield doesn't deteriorate...

Very few cars have them. They were to help absorb noises from the valvetrain.

 

So this is absolutely useless if like mine, the car is equiped with a loud Larini exhaust system
