    Hello Fchat friends,
I've been here on Fchat for some years now and will lrobably still present as I still love the F cars.
I just sold my 328 GTS and it was most likely my LAST Ferrari.
Retired and getting a bit older with too many projects I opted for a new car with full garantee and service for years to come and I can't afford a new Ferrari.

My last day with her yesterday was a fun 5 hours divided hyway run to Toronto to deliver her to the shipper. It was a pure pleasure.

I have been here 7 years longer and have NEVER owned a Ferrari, so you are a king among men from my prospective.

Would a gentleman’s V-12 be a fit for you? Easier ingress/egress and easier to drive if an automatic transmission.

Not really, the use of the car itself is not the problem. I still love manual cars. The problem is more the maintenance.
I've ALWAYS done ALL my own maintenance on all my cars for a cost reason. Getting a Ferrari maintained by a shop is NOT cheap and to be kept proper they need specific work like the belts etc. I'm finding it too much of a chore now to do all this with all the other obligations with house and boats and all.
In the 4 Ferraris I owned I did ALL the jobs myself including doing the diff on my Testarossa, the clutch, fuel tank on the Mondial etc etc.
I also own an 87 Vette that is in need AGAIN for some work and it is really a BIG CHORE for me now.

I also want a car that I can drive ANYWHERE at anytime with dealers everywhere.

I ordered a new C8 and will only DRIVE it for some years to come. I will probably also sell the C4.

Sort of a bittersweet post, but I know what you mean. I love classic sports cars, but the time and money involved can be more than you want to commit.

I'm not too old, but disabled from an accident in 2016. It is always tempting to just get something new, drive it and forget it. I now pay someone to wash and detail my old 911, and it goes to the dealer for service. I enjoy driving it, but it would be hard to rationalize.

I know EVs are widely shunned in the car enthusiast world, but I hold out some hope that at some point we'll see essentially maintenance-free sports cars that are a great drive.

Sad to hear about you selling your Ferrari, but glad to hear you are going to be enjoying a C8. A lot of people slag off on C4 corvettes, but they are really great drivers cars. They corner like nobody’s business and are very stable at speed.

We have not had a single issue with our 3 year old C8. Hope you get it soon. Still on the list for the Z06.

Tell us how you like the C8 when you get it!

Perhaps you will tire of the new car after a while and get into a more comfortable V12 GT. You never know.

I imagine the best game in town for an affordable late model manual V-12 would still be an Aston.

Congrats on the new C8! As a DIY'er I totally understand what you mean about the constant maintenance. It can be stressful to say the least when you have a life to live outside of the Ferrari world.
