Ouch. It would cost considerably more to restore it and few are willing to pull that trigger on a beat pre M GTA. Maybe someday the uniqueness of such a car will pop as less & less people know how to drive a manual (or care to). Maybe.

Sellers seem to get caught up in the hype and loose connection to the reality of today’s market. The economy sucks (regardless of what the stock market does, another issue not to get started on), it’s an election year with a lot of uncertainty and prices on nearly every “luxury” car are lower than 12 and 24 months ago. There are exceptions of course, but it makes me laugh when sellers get blinded by greed and fail to understand real world conditions.

Besides the cheap money being gone, I think a lot of people who were on the sidelines, both buyer and sellers, during the run up the last few years are now trying to act on their FOMO, but for the time being it's a downward bell curve. Just comes down to priorities and what other interests sellers are looking to buy

yep, well said. I see it the same way.

I think there are a lot of buyers that finance/lease* v cash buy, and with money expensive, it has definitely slowed it down!

*This is not because the buyers are cash poor, it is because they use the case in ways to generate income and use financing/leasing to minimize expenses on cars. I have one buddy that has a Chiron/Senna GTR/etc and almost all are leased. Again, he explained if very clearly that every dollar used to "buy" a car was one less dollar that he could leverage to grow his income.

Right now is a buyers market, not a sellers one for luxury goods of all kinds, and getting better and better for the buyer. I know sellers look at the last 24 months without really seeing the 3-6 month trends and just get blinded by the illusion of high selling prices.

That being said, if a Saudi prince wants the car, the price wont matter! lol

If you’re buying one of these you need to buy the manual one. It’s just next level. You can’t compare the auto to the manual

I was hoping the answer was going to be trading up to a 575 and doing a manual swap.

I’m always hungry for more of those stories and experiences.

Charlie, your profile is really blank, what other toys do you have? If you are a SoCal guy, tease me with some desert/dune toys.

You know you’re gonna hate my answers. I love all original crap. I can’t stomach swaps.

I also never ever go off road. I can’t handle the dust and bumps. I like tracks like yas marina. Where when you go off road it’s just more track. But let’s meet at cars and coffee

I was leaning HARD into doing a 575 manual swap when the hype was at its highpoint. The worth to me is totally there. Before all the drama (and legitimate concerns perceived or otherwise). I still almost would do it but that’s like junking/branding a Ferrari in some ways. That’s fine, race teams modify factory cars all the time to improve performance. The F1 is how Ferrari built the 575 that I can afford and that is fine. But I want rear seats.

I wish a reputable company could do a 599 F1 rear seat conversion. That would be my absolute dream. BUT the 599 is actually bigger (wider) than an F12 so that always lands me right back at the (thinner) Lusso V12 which is beyond my humble means but would work. Parking, driveway and garage space is SO tight out here in So-Cal for daily driver cars.

Alas, my 456M GTA it has to be. The “perfect storm” and I ain’t selling it. Till that Lusso comes into focus haha.

Speaking of Dune toys we picked up our Rubicon on Monday ! 4.88 rear gears.

I don’t remember if we have talked about it…have you watched the FF’s at all?

This recent result was surprising….maybe that FF trend will continue…..

I say all of that but I’m waiting to pick up my girls from cubs scout camp and will need to put the bikes in the back of the Lightning….
Maybe someone sells a bike rack for the FF!

I love Ferrari so much I’d rather have a 4 Ferrari over any other car brand. I don’t care

Who cares about diluting a 575M manual market - outside of speculators ? I am upside down and in love with my (finally) mint and perfect GTA for the experience alone.

That recent FF on BAT was a crazy deal. The market is way soft. Everything under $130k I do the “would I trade” conversation with myself very hard. I am stuck hoping V12 Lusso will drop in the next 10 years. The 612 we tested was WAY too big, don’t want a California, the FF prices haunt me yes but that Lusso is like a 456M vs 456 and it took a long time to learn how different they really are.

Like I also don’t like when people make reproduction of old Ferraris like the 250 testarossa then ask 1 million for them. Like the whole concept seems dumb to me. If I was a billionaire with the real 250tr I’d buy the fakes and burn them

Like can we just let a rare car be a rare car? Every time I see a 356 speedster I have to assume it’s fake. I don’t get the excitement or enjoyment of thinking I just saw a rare real speedster. I like making a rare car spot. And to me what makes the 550 and 456 so cool is how they are so rare on the road and a real joy to see one

My apologies to the factory manual 575 owners out there, I watered it down more for you…just kidding, I don’t give a #%^*! I’m having too much fun to care. :)

As far as “junking” a Ferrari goes, not if you do it RIGHT. Not even hardly.

You CAN go back to F1 if you really want to.

Sorry, I just have to scratch my head sometimes. If someone isn’t into converting, that’s fine. It’s not really cheap, the parts hunt can be exhausting, etc. If you aren’t way into the idea, probably not for you…but it’s nowhere near chopping the top or putting an LS in the car or something like that.

There is a huge difference between a kit car and converting a f1 into a manual. It’s the same car with a simple change in gear mechanism. I agree completely with replicas, even the expensive ones, but I fully support a manual swap. Especially as it adds value to the car.
