As good Piastri is, he’s far from Lando’s pace during races.
With experience this weakness will be fixed or not ..
    We will see.
    Interesting times ahead.

Ps : As a diehard Ferrari’s fan, I’m very happy about Mclaren’s glory resurgence.;)

    Not what I meant.

Shaft the team and the indiv. results will suffer. MCL made that clear, and Lando understood that.
He would have gained a few points now but lost more later.

Both MCL and F have great drivers' rapport. Unfortunately F threw that away.

Agreed. Verstappen was never going to make that turn and Hamilton was not going to not turn right.

Perhaps, but this afternoon, we were treated with a rare display of sportmanship in F1; it doesn't happend very often.

I am sure Norris' decision to give his place back to Piastri must have made a lot of people cringe, but I applauded.

Lando, you are a true sportman !!!

I’m no Seb fan but he was right to ignore Multi 21. and he didn’t really have to worry about the championship

Lando was in the lead and putting distance on Oscar, no need for him to pull aside either. And he might need those six points….

Yup, that was a text book dive bomb by Max, he had no chance of making that move. You have to be along side before turn in to be left room and he just sent it from way too far back. There was no way that didn't end in an accident or with Max overshooting the corner by a mile. Stupid move, especially for someone with an 80 point lead in the title fight. Pure red mist.

What Seb did with Multi21 was a prelude of how he ended up. A caricature.

Lando was pulling away because Oscar wasn't trying. MCL was telling him they're swapping.

Landa was gifted the position. He had a point that if he hadn't been gifted the position he could have tried to pass him,
but MCL did mention post race that they intentionally pitted Lando first to minimize the risk.

You can argue about that, but considering the context, doing the swap as planned was smart.

smart for McLaren. not smart for Lando. that’s my point

Lando just proved he’s not “selfish” enough. like it or not that’s a requirement for being WDC.

Yep, when he stopped being cocooned by Horner, Vettel became very ordinary and went downhill.

McLaren's decision to pit Lando first was to cover Hamilton, Piastri being in front was not threatened. It was in the interest of the team, and detrimental to Piastri as a side effect - so it was logical to give back the position to Piastri, otherwise both drivers would know that they have to put their own interest above the team.

    yes I understand that.

but Lando had the lead to win a Grand Prix and take more points out of Max, and listened to team orders instead.

as mentioned before-would Max, Lewis, Seb or Schumi have done that? (Well we know what Seb would have done :p )

my point isn’t about McLaren strategy. It’s about Lando putting himself first. He’s been a team player so long I think he’s forgotten about himself.

There will always be people who would do anything for a win, and then there are people who show sportmanship.

Someone said "It's not what you win that matters, but how you win it"

In our modern world, the "win at any cost" seems to be more important than integrity.

There are many ways to be selfish. Times change.

maxipad wouldn't have had his 1st WDC without Perez and wouldn't have any without a superior car.

It's also long term vs short term - as explained by McLaren's pit, Norris may need the team and/or Piastri's support in the future.
The Villeneuve / Pironi rivalry did not end up as being beneficial for any of them.

It's not even that. Like MCL said, go against the team and there will be consequences.

Lando chose many points later vs a few points now. That's smart.
