And yet Alonso has almost double the points so far this season and scored almost 3x the points as him last season. Stroll really showing him isn't he......

 

Stroll still sucks.

 

There are people who believe that Hamilton also sucks and is just lucky even after over 100 wins and 200 podiums.

 

It's widely acknowledged among people who know a thing or two about F1 that Lance Stroll isn't at the same skill level as Fernando Alonso.
But yesterday, for instance, he was the only one from the Aston Martin stable to finish in the points.

 

You did watch the race to see why Stroll got ahead right? It's not like he was faster and flat out beat Alonso. The team pitted Alonso so early he didn't have any tires left at the end. Stroll didn't do a bad job, but had AMR done a better job with Alonso's strategy, he likely would have been P10 instead, maybe even P9.

 

Alonso was leading Stroll most of the race. I noticed the last few laps, Stroll passed Alonso. Whether it was because Stroll was faster than Alonso at this time, whether team orders were invoked, whether Alonso let Stroll pass.....any number of variables were at play regarding Alonso vs. Stroll at the end of this race. Regardless, it wouldn't stir the outcome of which car came into the points.

 

Stroll had much fresher tires at that stage due to AMR pitting Alonso so early. I'm sure Stroll was faster at that point and the team likely told Alonso not to fight Stroll and give him a shot at Tsunoda. Stroll did finish less than 1 second behind Yuki so that's fair enough. No surprise they didn't swap back.

 

I can see you're very happy about his 1 point performance yesterday. Still, as I've said, history looks at the overall points haul and that story tells itself. Tell you what, I'll send you a Stroller team shirt so you can wear it to the next race. Maybe he'll even notice (since it'll be the only one in the crowd) and autograph it for you!

 

Uh, to anyone saying Stroll beat Alonso, AM told Alonso to let Stroll past so he could try to pass Yuki and he was told to give the place back if he couldn't, but ignored the order. Typical Stroll BS. He didn't beat Alonso. More garbage from him.

Of course "good for him" because that's why Lance is in an F1 seat since Lance's "fun in an F1 seat" has top priority over anything and everything else having to do with the team.
