And RB response would be "we've won championships without you. We put you in this position in the first place. There are other drivers who are driving great at the moment, you are not God. You crash under pressure anyway" If Max makes a statement such as "you'll be lucky to win without me" that makes him look arrogant, even more dislikable imo.
That's what happens when you put a driver on a pedestal; he starts thinking he is bigger than his team. Red Bull has been giving preferential consideration to Max for a few years; now they see the result. In time of difficulties, he throws his dummy out of the pram, badmouths his engineer and has a tantrum with his team. Sad to see, but he is still probably the best driver on the grid, simply not a deity.
Max's attitude is nothing new to F1 regarding drivers of his talent and caliber. Blow it off and move on.
You didn't get my message. You would like to censure me for expressing my opinion about Max, whilst feeling free to give your about Stroll at every oppoortunity. It's the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it ?
Was it directed towards you? Don't these guys in F1, for example Max, Lambiase, Horner, blow it off and move on?
Helmut comes to sleepy Max's defense I dunno, with all the mountains of research done into sleep impacting athletic performance....you'd think staying up all night sim racing would be frowned upon Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date
Or maybe he's right? Max did it before, won both races. Max stayed up to 3 am or something and the race started at 3 pm local time. Plenty of time for a good sleep. Because Crofty mentioned in half a dozen times it must be the reason Max went haywire?
No driver in the field today would be in the position to win races in that car today. If Max leaves RBR in it's current state is absolutely F'ed.
Certainly seems that way just using Perez as a reference. Max leaves and you face complete unknowns in terms of adaptability and performance to replace Max.
They should have filled his water bottle with Red Bull. max: I’ll show Lando how to ****ing dive bomb Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think it's a question of whether he would have won if he got some sleep. There's just no way. He presented as impatient, cranky, and lacking judgement for a very talented three-time champion. I don't think it's inappropriate to ask if he would have had a better result if he got more sleep.
Very poor driving standards! He should have been black flagged and taken off the track. Why the FIA did not give him at least a penalty I just do not understand. I'm convinced these role models are carefully watched by other drivers and even amateur racers to see what they can get away with. This year I have experienced more double waving yellow flags, black flags, and red flags than in my prior 25 or so years amateur club racing. I have no idea why this is happening at my level of no contact no prize money amateur racing but an amazing number of amateurs think they can drive like Max Verstapen.
Schumacher (in Hamilton's position) got removed from the championship for turning in on Villeneuve, and still to this day gets vilified for what happened that day. . Now the roles are reversed and Max needed to be removed from the race? 1997 European GP (Jerez) - Schumacher/Villeneuve crash (youtube.com)
Drivers complain a lot about inconsistent ruling. In previous races Norris tried a few dive-bomb overtake maneuvers on Max and got away with it without any penalty. The only logical conclusion Max could draw from these incidents is that apparently dive-bomb overtaking is allowed, so he tried it himself this race. If you don't like this kind of racing, just don't blame Max, but blame the FIA.
Drivers get blame for they are DRIVING? LOL. The FIA could help all this by hiring full time PROFESSIONAL Stewards = Consistency.............maybe!
