I know that most on this thread believe that the car we are seeing is the final design. I would argue that the car is still heavily disguised with surface panels (I say 50% covered), which you can see if you look closely. Ferrari goes to GREAT lengths to keep their designs classified until launch. The only car that I have ever seen leaked was the Purosangue shots that surfaced prior to launch. Why run so many disguised test mules for Ferrari to ultimately just run the final car around Maranello, just would never happen. There is nothing to gain from doing so as making fake panels is a simple project, as we see with so many other Ferrari test mules.

Look at what length they are going to in order to hide the 296 Limited. I can guarantee, outside of the greenhouse, there is another car under this car. The most anticipated Ferrari launch in 11 years, seriously, they are not showing the car until the launch.

There are no surface panels, just the wrap which is, in some areas, stretched across gaps, steps, and openings.

Even the wheels are on full display with only the spokes masked in blue tape. The same tape used to hold down the edges of the heavier camo on earlier pictures.

Plus, when you look through the camo, you get a shape that corresponds to the only thing we know for certain - the invitation gift that shows some of the key lines of the car. The latest photos are very close in my opinion, except, as ingegnere says, the wrap which is probably covering lots of gaps and holes. We also don’t see what the front and rear faces look like and they are extremely important to the overall appearance of the car.

I think this car is going to be exactly what it should be - a thoroughly modern car with a reference from the past, a car influenced by the 499P and also borrowing some technologies from F1, a ‘somewhat’ usable (by that I mean not like a Valkyrie) hypercar that combines drama, performance and that yellow and black badge. That just has to be exciting! No Corvette needed.

This photo definitely suggests the car will have the ‘come and get me’ vibes it needs….

(and by the way, you can draw the gift lines directly over this car. It has to be very close).

By the way. Sound. Looking at that intake behind the ear, I’m thinking they have adopted the Porsche solution from the GT4 RS. We all know that regulations are forcing exhaust noise down. But nothing about intake noise in the cabin. I think this could be one noisy car, and intake noise is both purer and focused on the driver rather than the onlooker. I have absolutely no problem with that. We all get fixated on exhaust noise but it is not the best noise a car makes.

At a minimum, the red areas are overlays, and the area in green is confusing, this is not 100% for sure. You are free to disagree, after all this is Ferrari Chat, but time will tell.

Nope. Pretty bad considering the car is basically exposed.

Front fender and especially the B-pillar is all wrong. The car has basically a NACA shaped inlet leading to a black air box.

It’s called artistic license. The sketch is is basically a simplified take on the car to capture the main design elements and not at all in proportion to the real thing, as shown by the respective shapes of the hockey stick lower body cut outs.

Also, there is no way that horizontal crease is above the front wheel opening and if still present forward of the front axle it will for sure be interrupted by the wheel opening.

All I can say more is that if you don’t like what you’re seeing, sadly you’ll be disappointed to find out that WYSIWYG.

Why would you have a panel connected to a winglet, you would not need the winglet with the arrow pointing to it?

Come on guys, that’s the final car. Those are real body panels wrapped in camo. Usually we don’t see this version of test cars until after reveal, similar to the 12C’s running around Maranello the past few weeks wrapped in camo. Unless Ferrari went through the trouble of designing and fabricating a completely different body just as a decoy to mess with us on FerrariChat, which I highly doubt, then what you are seeing is probably 95% of what we’re going to get.

I love how every time a new model is coming, Ferrari will test initial mules in the body of the previous model. People lose their mind and say “there’s no way it will look just like xxx previous model.”

This time, for whatever reason, Ferrari is showing off what looks to be the final production body prior to reveal and now people can’t be convinced of what they’re actually looking at. Cracks me up.

Well I have to say this is pretty unusual for Ferrari to test their halo car almost undisguised few months before launch presentation.
Really hope they haven’t some serious concerns about aero/cooling requirements..

It must be because of extreme aero. With that big wing working at multiple levels and multiple angles, how to balance that with the front downforce, even for road conditions must be complex.

@day355 can you give some insight from the current mute/wrap and the final car please ?
