I have the challenge rear tow hook installed already. I’m doing a rear wing. GT style.

The 360 will go down as one of the last great classic Ferraris.

I'm not so sure, think the F430 will from this era, as it was better in every way! time will tell.

I have to say, when I went to the factory, it appeared to me that the 360 got more love than the F430.

The 360 was in more pics and displays by far, the F430 wasn't even listed on the model timeline.

This may be due to the fact that the 360 was a breakthrough change and the F430 a 'development'.

To that end, the 360 was more of a milestone, the F430 was quite an achievement though, particularly in manual config. I'd want no other car.

Technically “one of the last great Ferraris” could include a few cars. :)

Owning an F430, I’m partial but there is absolutely no doubt the 360 set so many standards when it was out. It was the benchmark for so many vehicles. The F430 I feel improved on the styling and power but it didn’t have the entrance the 360 did.

We posted at the same time, but that echos my sentiments. The F430 almost feels like the forgotten child. I think that plays well for prices though as I feel it’s hitting above its weight class for Ferrari value. One day the general public will realize that maybe and we’ll be glad we bought when we did :)

Agree Joe with all your statements

Ferrari had to make a spiritual comeback from the NSX (imho) which did it all including serviceability and reliability as well as performance and looks.

Well the 360 crushed it for sure on every level, then the F430 just blew the doors off with the smoking new engine, as per Clarkson, so far ahead of all others, showing them how it's done.

I don't know if the F430 will get its due as its a bit of an oddball in the line of 'beautiful' Ferrari cars (I find its design more athletic, historic and sophisticated , than simply beautiful) but for those who get to know one, know what its got going for it.

My friend and I took turns driving eachother's cars. He has an f430 and I have a 360. Both were gated. The F430 just feels like that extra 20%. It made the lack of low end torque on the 360 glaringly obvious. I will say, getting Trev's tune really woke up the 360 and closed a lot of the gap. I highly recommend it.

As far as looks, some people prefer the beautiful flowing lines of the 360, others prefer the more aggressive look of the 430. Personally I prefer the flowing lines which Ferrari has pretty much abandoned.

I think it is hard to top the sound of a 360 though. Not saying the 430 is bad, because they sound great, but the 360 just sounds amazing.

Both definitely have their strengths and weaknesses. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I've just never lusted after a 360. When it came out, it was a backward step for me from the 355, all jelly moldy and styling similar to a Fiat Barchetta, which I hated! I'd have a CS though, I mean that addressed all the styling issues for me and made you forgive those headlights!

I agree on the technology, power, F1 tech and serviceability move forward though, it was a bibber breakthrough car for sure!

I went with the 360 for similar reasons. I think the F430 front end looks better, but not enough to overcome how much more I prefer the rear and sound of the 360. It was the end of an era in Ferrari styling and the Dino V8.
