I’m sorry to hear that… make sure you get a police report, how bad is the damage?

They will file a claim through their commercial policy.
Do not call your insurance to start a claim under your comprehensive policy.

Sorry to hear this. Is it totaled? If totaled I'm sure your insurance will write you a check for it. If not you may need to file a diminished value claim, however I dont know how successful people are at wining those.

The Valet insurance probably only covers $25k in liability.

First, I am sorry that this happened
Second, having them confirm responsibility, will make this easier.
Third, would you be willing to share photos or describe the visible damage ?

Before demanding police reports or initiating insurance claims , I’d suggest establishing how much repairs will cost. Take that estimate or estimates to your friend the owner and ask if he’d like to care of the situation. It could benefit everyone. This step should be easy and result in a timely solution.

If Insurance is already involved or a police report are already in play, then you should consider that diminished value comes into play.

I’ll wait for pix or description before saying more

    Steve

p.s. I may know someone who specializes in Ferrari DV claims.

What do you mean by “wrecked”? Definitions can vary widely and it might be useful to better clarify the scope and magnitude of the damage. I can anything from scraping a pole in a tight parking garage to going full Ferris Bueller and then everything in between. Each scenario would mean different ideas and advice.

And if the “wreck” pops up on carfax it may become an issue if you sell it at some point.

if minor I would not report it to insurance and handle the repairs with a good shop and attempt recovery of costs from the valet company.

I’d start by writing down what happened, who said what and when, and be sure to get the name and DL of the valet driver.

    • Claim on their insurance. Don’t be surprised if they try and make you use your own and subrogate. Refuse that.
    • Use your choice of body shop for repairs, likely who the dealership uses
    • Find “diminished value” expert locally and pay for report. Probably $250–750 out of pocket.

    • Demand the diminished value and loss of use above the repairs.
    • If totaled, they should pay you out within a few weeks
    • If you have a note, and it is totaled, let the lender know immediately. Many will pause your payment on a total. I was hit and totaled in my 458 with a note from Ferrari Financial and they were excellent. Stopped my payment within 3 days and even approved me to finance another vehicle from a Ferrari dealer within a week.

    Good luck.

For this reason I park my own cars and tip the valet. I refuse to hand my keys over. So sorry.

Diminished value on LamboSV - they gave me 65k on 600k and sold it for 530k - hired an appraiser.
Damage was 12k - doesn't matter who fixes it, few people want a damaged exotic - let them buy it from you - it's a pia.
Insurance - provides for what you had the day before the loss. Figure out that number and let them deal with it.
