Engine cover is tribute to F40. The car is there in front of you, even the fin behing front tires is visible. guess they needed real life tests for cooling so is unusualy striped. Front has a light strip DRL similar to 499, the rest I haven't seen. As I said it is not like Laferrari,it is much more" focused" and it will be controversial as most Manzoni designs. Who didn't like Laferrari will be happy, who liked it, will like it even more.
the fine details are not visible, remember 499p isn't beautiful but with specialy designed paintwork and combo of colors it is by far most attractive LM Hypercar
The engine cover is more a 812 Competizione tribute. It's a carbon fiber element, not by lexan, not transparent. But there are many recalls to the F40 especially at the front wheel arch detached from the rest of the side and by that vertical cut
To be honest, even as a diehard Ferrari fan, I have to admit the Porsche 963 is a prettier design to my eyes ..
Nice pics of wheels. These were already shown (with blue tape) some time ago but nice to see them uncovered. Seems they were trying to make the rim look alloy color but being all black (unfortunately) is expected by them being CF. Hopefully the rim can be had in the silver metallic color to break up the black hole effect of black wheels. Image Unavailable, Please Login
O/T, but I also like the 963. Mostly the front as it recalls the 956, which was really nice. I also like the front because with lights on I always imagine this wold be a good modern interpretation of the GRO, with its distinctive four-light setup in the lower bumper… Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, I discovered talking with Ferrari guys and TM designers that there are some rules and especially with the 12Cilindri they will try to stay at these rules: roof and black areas will remain black. Also the SF90 is born with the black roof. And they make the roof in the body color under request… but the roof should stay in black. This for the LF, SF90/SF90 Spider, XX, XX spider, 12Cilindri/Spider and this F250. If there is a concept I think is better respect the original idea from the designers. For example a large use of black into the 812 Comp A gives at it a roadster mood. This is the reason why all the cars have black A pillars
Thanks for your answer. Respectfully disagree on what should be or not because designers decided this is more cohesive or elegant. In the end customers must have the choice to decide whatever options they want on their car. Only my opinion.
i hoped this time ferrari would implement fighter-jet canopy style glass roof .. but no.. and a much more aggressive body style.. after all this is 2025 ...
Can confirm. I asked to spec SF90 with body colored roof and was told by my dealer that the designers at the factory will strongly advise against it, nearly to the level it will take offense as the car is conceptually meant to have a bi color scheme. I have also heard that for TM all final configurations have to be signed off by Manzoni personally.
I don't know why but Ferrari shows some cars and hide others: for this and the SF90XX no secrets, but for the 12Cilindri and the 296 showed nothing. Who knows, it may be related to marketing more than technical reasons.
Yes, the bill, but in many cases it is not a taste issue. There is a concept, an idea. And we have to respect it. For example from CS they told us that the 812 Competizione would have been unavailable in a two tone body for the nature of the car: the car was born as a single tone body. They discarded many two tone proposals during my TM experience with a Competizione. A different speech is the Tailor Made program currently changed. Today they opened many options also with Atelier. Today there is a huge request and amount of work for TM designers so they are focused on TM liveries to repeat in series. And it is not unlimited as the first years. The range is bigger and bigger. They are trying to suggest clients to opt for a car from a TM collection - for example the Cavalcade Edition or Ispirazioni. In this way the marketing plan flies and their profits are huge.
I had ZERO push back at Taylor Made or Atelier when not choosing a black roof, zero. I do not like them and order all my cars full body color. Nor have any of my friends ever mentioned having an issue with full body color. Not meant to be argumentative but I have never been told you must have a black roof. I ordered my 296 TM with body colored roof. Even the Ferrari configurer on the Ferrari website allows you to remove a black roof from the cars, 296, SF90, SF90XX, its an option. Three months before official revealing, suddenly we have plenty of undisguised F250s testing together.. Weird isn’t it ? And completely unusual for Ferrari especially when we are talking about their halo car. One can only deduce they gave some serious cooling problems to solve with hot temperatures..
There is rumours of an innovative electric turbo, perhaps it needs more cooling than a simulation would suggest for everyday driving.
Cooling issues…? hmm…. Maybe they add another V6TT into the car to celebrate 2nd victory. So it is v12 somehow? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Why are you spreading unnecessary rumors about things you don’t know? I mentioned it some time ago, but few people read my comments. The V6 will have electric turbochargers and push-pull suspension. As for cooling, there is no problem; removing the camouflage is a marketing strategy from reliable sources.
