If you're in your 2nd year of F2, to really earn an F1 seat you have to absolutely dominate the season. He's not. Same goes for Martins.
Well 4 wins in feature races plus one lost in Monaco because last lap drama, during the first part of the season, isn’t dominant for you Bas ? The way he’s talking during interviews, his language’s level .. Everything tends to demonstrate a very smart driver.. I’m not saying he’s the new Verstappen but I would love to see him in Formula One next year. Ps : He’s 19 years old..
Next is Max to Mercedes LOL The bleeding continues at MaxBull -- Wheatley to leave Red Bull for Audi F1 team principal role Wheatley will become Audi team principal for the 2026 season
LOL ouch lol I would hope they are a touch resilient but it was no secret Wheatley was hoping for this type of position to open. It has been his goal overall.
How many compartments are flooded so far on the Red Bull ship ? The Newey compartment is already under water, the Perez compartment is not safe, the Verstappen compartment is taking water which could affect the Marko compartment too. Only the Horner compartment seems OK, and the crew is busy rearranging the chairs on the deck.
The "Hornergate" (no opinion from me on the story itself, I have no knowledge of the facts) and those who made it public will enter the history books as the wrecking ball that destroyed the team. Rgds
Absolutely !! With insight, it looks like the late Dieter Mateschitz was the kingpin of the whole Red Bull enterprise, including Red Bull Racing, keeping all the egos in check and that cracks started to appear on the edifice not long after his passing. The fight for control between the Austrian and Thai branches, the rivalry in Red Bull GMbH management, the accusations and departure of important staff at RBR, all announce the decline of the company, or perhaps a different course dictated by the winning side in the argument. I think Horner, who was instrumental in building a winning team is on borrowed time, but the shareholders who want him out because he become too important, are unable to find a suitable replacement. It takes years of effort to build a successful organisation, but not much to bring it down.
A quote and an inside joke for almost every Frenchman in love with witty dialogues that comes to mind, from the movie "Les Tontons flingueurs" (Dialogues by the late great Michel Audiard): "Le lion est mort, les chacals se disputent l'empire. Enfin, on ne peut pas demander plus aux frères Volfoni qu'aux fils de Charlemagne" « The lion is dead, the jackals fight for the empire. Well, you can’t ask more from the Volfoni brothers than from Charlemagne’s sons » Rgds
Looks like Jonathan Wheatley is leaving RedBull and headed to Audi. Another compartment at the flood stage in this slowly sinking ship.
it was bound to happen. history has shown that many a great bands have broken up due to egos and wanting to go solo. was Yoko anywhere near the paddocks?
What’s wrong with Horner? The guys been a solid team boss. So he sent a few flirty texts to some gal. Show me someone who hasn’t??
I doubt that Horner's ordeal is why so many are leaving Red Bull. After Mateschitz died, the stage was set for a power struggle. It's no secret Marko wants to be in charge of the whole operation, and the Verstappen's are in his camp. Newey has his own ego issues and wanted more control over the technical department, while Wache and Bablo want to be their own bosses. Then everyone started leaking to the media, talking smack about each other, having public tantrums, and on and on it went. Those blaming Horner's sexting scandal for their choice to write a soap opera, are just looking for a scapegoat to give themselves an excuse to act like high school girls.
Marko needs to go- He's a disruptive piece of **** that offers nothing- he needs to go eat soft toast and die- Let Horner run the team without this worthless grandpa babysitter-
