The one advantage of the 355 is that the engine and trunk sections and half of the door jambs are all flat black. It would be infinitely harder if these sections required painting (engine removal, wiring removal, etc etc)

Will you be doing any modifications/changes to the car before painting? Ex…recessed fenders etc?

No, just a simple paint job. I'm not really a fender shields guy.

Even as extensive this paint process was, they didn’t remove the windshield and rear window. I would have. They also didn’t attempt to full-proof the rear buttress.

I give them credit for organization and cleanliness. You’ll be hard pressed to find a bodyshop like this.

My pet peeve is when mechanics lose/misplace bolts and put in random mismatched bolts or not any at all. Some $20/hr dude at the body shop is bound to lose them.

I agree with Targa time. I don’t really trust shops all that much without some supervision from myself. I’d rather be the person removing and re-assembling the parts.

Blu Swaters and Blu Le Mans are beautiful shades of blue. Refine your search and look for those, Fat-Thor...

The problem these days is employees are retarded. Very few care to be extremely thorough in their work. Either they’re not passionate enough or they aren’t getting paid enough. The one’s who are passionate stand out, but chances are they have a busy schedule.

I wouldn’t event trust someone to mask my car properly other than myself. Chances are they’ll get the lines wrong (off OE spec), crooked, or inadequate getting overspray everywhere.

Familiarity with the 355 is also key imo. Lots of parts and details to get right. It’s a ton of work.

This euro 95 B is currently for sale btw. It ain’t TDF, but it is Blu Chiaro, which is far rarer than TDF, Le Mans, or Swaters.

Blu Chiaro is beautiful too. Was it available on an F355 in 1995?

Yes. This car isn’t a color change. It’s a respray.

If you get your car disassembled/reassembled by a body shop, it will be put back together with sheetrock screws and random nuts and bolts they have laying around the shop. Guaranteed.

When I bought my 355 GTB, it was a fairly low mileage no-stories garage queen that spent its entire life in SoCal and Arizona, and had only been worked on by top Ferrari dealerships and specialists. And by god, when I removed the undertrays and fender liners, half the hardware was sheetrock screws and random nuts and bolts they had laying around the shop. Nobody gives a **** about anything.

Why don't people ever replace these boots. Granted, mine are like that but I have the new boots. Just haven't gotten around to putting them on.

Especially, if you own your own body shop. You can make money fixing peoples cars you lose money work on your own and you still killed the value of the Ferrari. I’m not saying there’s not moments in time where color change may not be a bad idea, but I only do that the car was wrecked and rebuilding it and at that point it makes sense, especially if you get paid to fix your car.

I don't care. I want a TDF blue 2.7 Berlinetta. I'll do the disassembly and assembly.

Could be fun to start a thread during the process. What color is the car now?

Half the battle if not more. Enjoy. Just to be clear though, there are zero 2.7 GTB TDF cars?
