I plan to be at both events in a couple of weeks. Anybody else attending? Look for the black Ghibli spyder at Concorso. This year Pebble Beach has two classes dedicated to Maserati .... road cars and race cars. I will be judging road cars. But first need to drive the Ghibli the 1,500 miles from Kirkland, WA to Monterey .... of course not in a straight line Ivan
Ultimate respect to you sir! That's a heck of a drive without cruise control, but bless you for getting that gorgeous machine out on the road for the world to appreciate. Hoping to see your progress on the Bora one of these days too.
I plan to be at both events. Glad to see they chose you for a judge. Look forward to seeing you again
Hey I invented the nickname as a tease, Adolfo is a friend and likes it. I spent six months indexing his archive in his huge home office in 2006. Anytime I see him, lastly at the RM Monaco auction in may, I always greet him like that and he has never minded. Oh and I turned 60 in June so am not a kid anymore alas...
It depends on your mental attitude. Age is just a number. I'm 82 and people think I am much younger due to my outlook and attitude towards life.
Same here, my mayor said he thought I was at least ten years younger. Far more importantly I am very young at heart, it is who I am, my activities, as you say. I never imagined myself old, not me at all.
Pebble Beach just announced this year’s poster and it features the fabulous 1955 A6GCS Frua spyder along with a A6G Zagato berlinetta. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ivan as a judge do you have a list of the Maseratis entered at Pebble? We would love to see it I had a great chat with Ed Waterman of Motorcar Gallery today and like me he was very happy that a Khamsin will be invited in the Pebble beach concours !!!
I only have the list of the cars in my class, which are the road cars. There is also a Maserati race car class. I probably should not be providing my list until the program guide is made available. Ivan
Wise decision. I was going to say competent judging seems to be ever rarer...and at Pebble one remembers the infamous 375MM of Mrs Day which many decades ago got docked points for being yellow...when it was its original color. Of course knowledge about classic Maseratis is often near zero among judges...
Today was the Tour d’Elegance and in addition to driving the Ghibli spyder on the tour I got the extra treat of riding in the A6GCS Frua spyder; the poster car! What I thought would be a quick drive around the block turned into a 45 minute drive on 17 mile drive, partly due to the heavy traffic! Maserati is well represented at this year’s event. Lined up for the Tour. Got there early to be with the faster cars. The tour is 60 miles and some of it is up hills, and there is no passing, therefore best not to be stuck behind slow cars. Ivan Image Unavailable, Please Login
