Place your bets here on what needs doing this year :)
The owners manual shows you what should get done if you accumulate normal mileage. Mine is a garage queen with a few hundred miles every year. I'm on a relaxed service schedule. Oil changes every two years, coolant changes every four years together with brake fluid. Other items on an as needed basis.
High mileage car, 70k+ miles, prev work last 2 years includes: New wheels New Discs ar (due to one exploding) New Pads ar New actuator New actuator pump New crank sensors Injector clean/service New Wiper motor New gearbox cooler (stone went through it) New Suspension ar Centre Gravity set up fast road Service annually in my ownership of nearly 9 years
I’m going with valve cover gaskets. When was the last time the F1 fluid was changed out? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
You have a lot of stuff here that's not on my Bingo card! Actuator, actuator pump, really? Wiper motor really? The rest I kind of understand but still, WOW!
Actually George, it could have been necessary. When I had my 612 in at Paul Russell & Co. for some major service (including replacing the dash leather), I had them change the wiper motor. At 59K miles it was making a noise and I was concerned at some point it would fail. I looked at changing it myself, but I couldn't figure out how to get to it. I assumed it was somewhere behind the dash. It turns out they had to remove the front left quarter panel to get at it! Although, at highway speed the rake of the windshield is such that no wipers are necessary.
Where are you taking her Justin? Have you been down and visited Bell Sport & Classic my friend? Honestly after my experiences, i would not go the Ferrari dealership route, in my opinion far too many of them do not have the passion for the cars they look after Most have one aim, " how much money can we screw out of each customer ", i am not saying all are the same, but after visiting a few in the past years a defined trend was emerging. Oh how i wish i had taken my 599 back to BS&C, i may have still had her now?
I got my 599 from Bell Sport and Classic, amazing experience and will use them for all my servicing. I wonder @Autodetailing if i have your old 599….
Should've mentioned they were off when sorting the crank sensors, and were re crinkled at the same time
I use Autofficina, they really helped me out after using another Indy who broke the car and i am currently just about to head to court with. Heard good things about BS&C, but Elias the owner of Autofficina has owned multiple 599's so knows them inside out !
Mine wa used all year round, so the wiper motor had good winter use, it's also a common issue on them due to a design flaw issue with water dropping right on the top of the motor and leaking in on a non serviceable part. Actuator and potentiometers also a common issue, Pump less so, but feel it was replaced unnecessarily, hence heading to court...
So yesterday's result was, Screenwash, it was raining on the way down and was low , that's it, and an MOT. Team at Autofficina was pleased as i've had some horrific bills over the last 5 years, but car is proper sorted now !
