Gold Rims on F8

Still working on getting my F8 into its final form.

I have a TDF Blu F8 Spider with the diamond forged wheels.

I feel like gold rims would go well with the color and also that the rear rims see a bit small for the large arches. So im thinking about the following scenarios and would like some input and help.

1) go for the gold factory Pista wheels which are 20” front and rear. Unfortunately means the rear will still look tiny. I saw this picture (attached) of a F12 TDF with those rims which looks amazing. However something makes me think they are not gold, but some form bronze colour. Anyone shed some light on this?

2) go for the brickell bronze NF10s, 20” front and 21” rear. Question here is are 21s enough to make the rear look more filled out? And would it need to also be lowered?

3) go for the NF10s with 21” front and 22” rears. I kinda feel like this is a recipe for disaster on uk roads. I don’t wan to keep bottoming out and destroying the rear carbon diffuser as there are speed bumps everywhere. I do have front lift but still. Front going up means back going lower.

talk to me people. Let me know your experience and thoughts here.

also if anyone has any pictures of any of the above configs please share them even if not in gold or bronze. But if someone has done a gold on tdf blu set up damn I’m keen to see it!… doesn’t matter if it’s not an F8. Thanks

This is all really very personal preference.

I prefer 20" front and rear to keep the suspension geometry in spec as I prefer ultimate performance. However going with 20/21 for street use is fine. I am not a big fan of 22" on these cars as the tire sidewall will be very skinny. Tire choices with 21/22" rears are a lot wider that stock making the smaller front tire understeer/push in fast corners. Again for normal street use you'll be fine. It's your car do it how you like. People have made all 3 of those combos work.

I had HRE in 20" front and rear but with slightly less offset to push the wheels outward slightly. I did a very mild drop with Novitec springs and my 488 performed great and the rear wheel did not look tiny. I did this to keep the suspension geometry in tact. I had thought these were going to be a light use track set of wheels but never did use them for that. They were just to perfect and pretty.

If you heads are really about your business please tell me what color or even better color code these rims are. I need this exact same rim and color.

Decided to not go with the NF10s and go 20:20 front and rear. How many mm of drop would make it look better and not have a detrimental affect when hitting speed bumps would you lower both the front and the rear?

Golden Oro Voc-790. If you lower your car you should lower front and rear by equal amount to keep the same rake angle front to rear as OEM. On stock springs you can lower around 10-15mm. If you want to go lower you’ll need Novitec springs. Really the height adjustment on your coil overs is there to corner balance and fine tune handling. People just lower for better looks on Novitec springs equal amount front and rear around 20-30mm.

I noticed some chatter about another color called 138364/430 ORO. You heard of that one?

That is the Pista wheel wheel for the coupe...the Pista Spider had a different looking wheel mostly. Very nice wheel 100% forged. Double check me by calling your Ferrari dealer or few Ferrari dealers and ask the color code for the gold on the Pista wheels. I am pretty sure it's Oro. The gold Pista wheels only came as 1 gold color. I've seen gold wheels on many other Ferrari's in photo's but it's hard to tell actual tint of gold due to camera, external processing and the phone, iPad or computer I am looking on.

 

Here is the Pista price list... RCGI you'll see is the option code for Pista Gold Wheels. Color is known as Oro with in Italian mean Gold.

Ok thank you for this. Makes sense I was trying to find the wheels on the Pista Spider but it was showing a different wheel. Will check the coupe and the list you just sent and confirm with the dealership. Very helpful!

 

@mdrums also do you know if the arches on the pista are smaller than the F8?

just been looking at pics of my car vs pistas and seems like they might be bigger.

 

Arches are the same. Side skirts are not which might trick the eye ball.

 

The Pista sits slightly lower than the F8. That could also be contributing to what you are perceiving.

 

I've noticed this too. Since Pista and 488 and F8 are the same chassis and coil-overs so I wish I knew the factory Pista ride height compared to 488/F8. Looks aprox 10mm lower to my eyes. Thoughts???

I do know from working with my Ferrari dealer when they did the Novitec springs on the 488 I had that factory ride height spec is + or - 10mm spread/ 5mm either way from center of spec for 488.

I would like to have my F8 lowered 10mm below min factory spec from chassis ride heigh measuring point equally front and rear and the car corner balanced but Ferrari dealers keep that ride height spec a secret it seems.

 

I wonder if the F8’s ride height is so generous to accommodate the low-hanging rear diffuser. I’ve read that the F8 diffuser is among the lowest. The 296 ride height is lower than the F8 and the diffuser seems to have adequate clearance.

10mm seems to be a safe amount to lower an F8 on stock suspension. I’ve learned the hard way that you will run the risk of bottoming out on spirited drives going much lower than that.

There were Pistas at the dealership so I was comparing the ride heights. This was approximately the Pista ride height.

 

@RoadRonin the dealerships will lower for you? No issue with warranty etc?

on 10mm drop any issue with scraping the rear diffuser?

 

Only when you engage bumpy road mode.

I live in England. Roads are terrible, need bumpy road mode. What is the lowest feasible to go then whilst still being able to engage bumpy road mode? 7.5mm?
