Wow, that's terrible. I wonder if it was overcharging battery? If the alternator was at fault? Maybe some of you have smelt an overcharging battery in car before, the toxic smell burns your nostrils. We have faulty alternators all the time in underground equipment. You can smell these machines coming from a mile away when they drive them up to the workshop for repair. The ventilation underground pumps that toxic gas around the area where the machine is tramming and you can tell when it's in the workshop as you can smell it straight away. Alternators charging 30+ volts into 2x N200 batteries fries your brain when you're working on them. In an enclosed cabin like that Porsche, if that alternator was overcharging that battery it would have been toxic in there.
Yes,on returning from last year's GAD a number of us smelled 'the smell' around Tony's Viper.I and others were convinced it was his battery. He moved the car from the others but the smell stayed in the same spot,turns out it was a vent release for the motel!!
