Has anyone tried peelable paint on the low Down plastic trim pieces? I didn’t go carbon because of the increased likelihood of damage, and it doesn’t match the gloss Black A pillar anyway. But there has To be a way to get that gloss black effect. here’s a link showing the effect I’m hoping to achieve. This car does not have carbon sills, rear diffuser, etc, painted black. There is some sort of wrap or peelable paint here. Just have to figure out what works.
I looked at this type of thing as I have gloss black wheels on order . The issue is the ‘grain’ of the standard composite material . You cannot get rid of it with gloss paint or a wrap. You can order carbon then have that spec’d with a gloss black paint finish . You pay for the carbon and then extra for the paint . For me I went with Carbon and no extra paint as the carbon from a number of feet away looks black and close up you get the carbon detail. If when the car comes ( Nov this year) I really do not like the potential mismatch I can always order a set of wheels .
So I believe there are peelable paint options that will work over the grain but we won't know until the car arrives. It can always be sanded down as well but I'd rather not do that. The car in that video does not have painted carbon. When it was for sale the options plate showed no exterior carbon. They were able to figure out a solution.
I have been looking into this as well. Assumed a glossy nero wrap would work but apparently not? Did you try calling exotics hunter and asking if anyone knows how this was accomplished. Looks better than carbon with glossy nero ds wheels.
They were under the impression it was painted by factory but it couldn't have been. I explored that with my dealer. I wasn't paying for carbon just to paint it. I was hoping for a Mclaren style black pack. Coincidentally, I think Ferrari has that now with the 12C.
It sure looks like it was painted by the factory. When I configured my Roma Spider, the configurator allowed glossy nero exterior painting for a charge of $15k. The code and description was "PPE1 - Nero Ds 1250 (Exterior Painted Plastic Parts Pack)." Then a few months later it disappeared and couldn't be optioned without the exterior carbon. Seems odd to lose out on 15k when so many would option. Maybe the thinking was that people would just option the carbon at a higher price point, but like you I want it to match the wheels.
Exactly this! However, this option also did not appear on the cars build sheet. Which is how we were sure it wasn’t factory.

@jm2 thanks. I absolutely love the color @Jo Sta7 do you already have your car? What interior did you chose? Mine is cognac
Not yet ours are being built very close right now. Rosso Maranello over Cuoio with Daytona bucket seats. But I did the extended leather which is appears you did too. Yours looks beautiful.
Yes I took the extended leather. The sales assistant at atelier in Maranello was very dangerous for my wallet
It arrived at the dealer but sadly they are closed for 2 weeks so I can’t pick it up. This is extra annoying as belgium only has 2 weeks of sun per year and it seems we are having them now .
Just in, waiting to be PPFed and shipped. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
