I admit I don't get the whole modified 911 backdate, RS 2.7 look-a-like/re-creation/replica/fake/tribute thing. But there's a whole world out there of this stuff, amazing really. I blame Whom.

Pretty special car, I think about 80 in RHD. There was also the Carrera GTS, I think two were sold here. Lighter again, with more power. I recall seeing one on the floor at Hamiltons, looked amazing, would have been 1981/2 or therabouts.

You've really got to have porker blinkers on to think any 924 is a desirable car. A mate had a Carrera GT (in Germany) in the day and it was very ordinary. Barely cheaper than a 911 and no faster than a Golf GTI. The engine is junk, the gearshift awful and the interior a sea of black plastic.

The 924 Carrera was a total failure at its intended purpose - a Group 4 rally competitor. It was too late, too heavy and too slow. Walter Rhorl drove it in the German championship but notably avoided being humiliated in the WRC.

Actually I forget that Carl was still in primary school when the 924 was new, which I hate him for even more!

Well, I can't afford to make even a low-ball offer on a real one, but if someone has spent 1,000 hours and $200,000 building a very good "recreation" of one, I'd happily offer $50K...

If I was putting up an ad for a $200k car I’d take as many photos as allowed, wide, tight, close ups of the seat material you name it .[emoji849]

I'm aware of two 360's that have sold for $120K in the last 3 months. As always, there's a big gap between the ask on Carsales and actual selling price.

A restored 308GT4 also just sold in NSW for $150K, which is a fair price IMO.

An old man like yourself would look ridiculous in a 360. An aircooled 911 however would give you some street cred :D
