yup, this will be a market test case for sure. I know I would not be selling a high-end car at the moment unless I was not able to pay the bills! This is a buyers market at the moment.

Yes, it’s wearing the Scarlett letters. A discerning buyer will know the difference, but that’s a small pool.

    Me neither.

I drove mine for a good long time this morning before the Wx began deteriorating. It’s just so good. Not something that can be easily replaced.

Copied/pasted right off the "How BaT Works" page:
    • Sellers pay a $99 listing fee, with the option to add our Plus photo service for an additional $330. There are no other seller fees on BaT.
    • Buyers pay a 5% fee on top of the final sale price to BaT, with a minimum of $250, and capped at $7,500.

Thanks guys, sorry for the late reply. Yes, it's the Andretti Diablo and the motor was so poorly repaired by the last (supposedly reputed) shop that had it, that it required a full tear down and a lot of machining. I thought I'd keep both cars but I find that if I'm looking for a long distance grand tourer, I jump into my stick V8 Vantage a lot more than the 550, and it was just a lot of $ to have parked in the car. Rather move it on to a caretaker who'll care for it just as well as I did, and enjoy the next thing.

However, a new wrench has come into the plans and I'm toying with the opportunistic purchase of a nicely kept manual 456GT.

My diablo is maintained buy Steve at Driven Exotics. I trust his work as he is one of the best in all of North America, IMHO. Actually not just my opinion, one of his diablos won at Monterey...which I think was one of the first Diablos to every do so. I *think* it was this one but always welcome a correction:

We are going to Gull Lake, MN for the Woods & Water II vintage boat show next week and am considering making an appointment to view the 487 mile "time capsule" Maranello. Will follow up with impressions if we end up seeing it. I know this car was mentioned in another thread, but too many topics covered there, so I'm reposting here to keep it from getting buried.

Anybody see this recent RNM on cars&bids? The car is in Canada, has a recent 6-speed conversion, and a major repair years ago (2007) from a crash. It’s still for sale ($135K asked) and I’d be interested in people’s thoughts about how to assess the quality of the repair and it’s effect on value.

I've been meaning to do a typical auction synopsis on it (just haven't gotten to it on that thread) and will and then that might help cover more discussion for you.

Should have it up later today.

I think it should trade closer to 110-115 due to lack of major and damage. Car looks to be solid from a conversion standpoint (with quality parts). Seats are custom, so hard to attack value, but they look nice. Not sure of quality, and I would want to know that as a seat fracture in an accident would be bad. That would be my guess. The conversion will keep valued higher than a f1, but the damage will lower the value some. Hrs to assess the quality f repair digitally, but f interested, I would get a high quality PPI and let the shop tell you what they see.
