It seems like they are indeed aging out. That's my opinion anyway. I am "Gen X", 50 years old, born in 1974. I love the Ferrari's of the 60's and 70's, but many friends my age are more interested in the cars of our youth and early driving years...the mid 80's - 90's . If I had the money I would happily spend it on a 275 GTB/4, Daytona, or 400 Superamerica, but I think I am in the minority for my age group and that most people who want those cars are a generation older than me, in their 60's and 70's or above. Most of my Gen X friends would rather have a 288 GTO , an Enzo, or an F40.

Certainly interesting looking figures, especially if eventually proven to be actual/real sales and not just some chandelier smoke & mirrors reporting.

Well, technically only to 1/2 of the “market”, i.e. those considering/planning to sell, assuming of course the reported figures are real/true.
Potential buyers, OTOH, may have a different view.

Right. So assuming these numbers don't reflect any in house "finessing" (not suggesting they do but its not uncommon in the auction world), and assuming they indicate a genuine change in buyers willingness to pay more for Daytona's than they have in the past few years, and not just a blip due to auction fever, then we are in an upswing. Great for owners, bad for buyers. Either way, I'm suggesting that historically, such upswings in the Daytona market seem to be followed by downswings of greater severity than some other models.

Being in the room , many a list cars were simply not bid on ( like the 550 spyder toping at 2.5m ) A -big money on the sidelines , given political world and future , or B- radical shift in value , C , I know nothing:)

Modified cars should not get a Red Book although we've seen 275 GTB 3 carbs converted to 6 carbs get the Red Book with the modification listed. White Classiche Book is a Ferrari of Historical Interest that has to be as it raced in period or as it was shown at International Concours/Events within a certain time.

Watching the SWB California, I think the auctioneer leaves a lot to be desired....

...still went for 15.500.000 USD, not bad. And the underbidder was in the room...
