thought i'd post a couple pictures of installing Brooke Race Exhausts mufflers, Capristo's valve controller, and some Hill Engineering wheel spacers on my new-to-me GTC4. excited to join the family!

i also took the opportunity to sandblast and Cerakote the exhaust tips and mesh. it looks like someone had rattle canned the factory tips, but only like the top half. looked really bad.

access wasn't too bad - pull off the rear underside diffuser and both of the rear sections of the rear wheel liners. basically just tons of fasteners, but nothing unusually complex. with the lower rear bumper fasteners removed there's enough flex to a) remove the exhaust tips/mesh assemblies and also b) reach the exhaust valve solenoids. didn't need to take off the whole rear bumper, which was awesome.

took the opportunity to de-rust all the various fasteners and sandblast the exhaust brace part as well.

on the list for another weekend: planning to lower it a smidge on the stock suspension and have a new set of brake pads to install!

Congrats on the new car and great you could do all of that by yourself! Lowering on OEM coilovers isnt so easy... The adjustments rings sometimes wont thread all the way down. The proper way to do it is then to disasemble the coilovers and get the threads properly brushed until the rings can freely spin.

How does the Brooks. exhaust sound. Is it still quiet when the valves are closed? I am sure you also had a some added weight loss switching out the stock boat anchors. Great work:)

thanks all! i assume the coilovers will either need to be removed to adjust or i’ll need to fit a slim spring compressor up in there to relieve the pressure.

the exhaust sounds a smidge louder than stock with the valves closed, but it’s pretty close. when it’s open it’s way louder with some added pops and burbles. i still have the stock x-pipe. overall super happy!

just need to find somewhere to mount a nice looking switch do i don’t need to rely on the not-so-great looking keychain valve remote…

they're 20mm on the front and 15mm on the rear - from Hill Engineering.

i tried capturing something on my phone in the driveway but didn't come through great - might need a better mic. it sounds awesome though!
