I think the reason the 296 and other models like SF90 are cratering is because they’re just too expensive. As I have written before, Ferrari keep boasting of their €170,000 a car profit. Who is on the other side of that? We are.

I don't, and it's not on their online configurator, which is a joke compared to what my rep has at the shop.
I will try and find the initial build he sent me and see if it's in the right color. I am also tech challenged, so might take a bit, if I can do it and find it at all...

Great color. We all know what it looks like and it'll look stellar. I backed my spec down as well, which is not usually my style, but I'm gunning for the VS. The carbon fiber is the easiest way to back down.

Remove all CF in my build and the price drops about $130K (I think that was the number). Backing it down is easy. The wife backing it down, not so much. Working on a happy medium.

    Not in US
they may be cratering in the US but not in other markets . That is the problem with a large market , you always get someone having to sell something at a price lower than market , no matter what it may be

Not sure where in the world you are, but those two models are cratering in the UK and in most of the European markets. I don’t follow the values in Asia.

Versione Speciale. Like the 488 Pista, 458 Speciale, 430 Scuderia, 360 Challenge Stradale.

The special, lighter-weight, more powerful track-focused variants.

    Ah yes, thanks.

I have 2 Porsches that I track (race) but have yet to put an F car on the racetrack.

When do the allocations come out for the VS 296? Are you talking about the Fiorano package?

I believe the Assetto Fiorano package was introduced with the SF90. It can be added to non-special cars (e.g., SF90, 296).

I'm unsure when orders will start being accepted for the 296VS, but it will be very difficult to secure an allocation. Besides having a 296 in the garage, you'll likely need a robust purchase history and few other Ferraris in the garage keeping your 296 company.

Thanks. I'll be happy with the GTS. It'll only be my 2nd Ferrari, the first being the 2019 488 Spyder, so I'm sure I won't rate on my dealer's scale....
Thanks for the info. Hope you get the VS you want.

I almost certainly won't qualify for a 296 VS. I go to most of the events I'm invited to, and my upcoming GTS will be my 4th Ferrari, but I typically don't keep multiple Ferraris in the garage simultaneously. Maybe if I focused on one brand, I'd have a better shot, but I like my variety.

    Correct.
In order to qualify for special series Ferrari: need to have at least 5 Ferraris in your garage, multiple years of buying/selling Ferraris and non-Ferraris through your dealership, servicing, attending gatherings, etc. And of course spending millions. Only then you have a chance :)

Remember: Ferrari dealers cannot charge over msrp/ADM for allocation. So qualify for special series or icona series takes time (maybe some years depending on how aggressive are you) before you are rewarded. Whereas with Porsche GT cars or other manufactures: ADM talks, pay over msrp and you can get any car without relationship or doing business with.

If you are going to be with Ferraris/Ferrari world for a long time then its worth it. Plus interest in collecting Ferraris. Its totally worth it..

This is not accurate. For cars like a 296VS, the dealer submits names to the factory of intended buyers for allocation slots. While the factory has to approve, they do not generally deviate from the dealer's wishes. It is almost certain that owning a current 296GTB/GTS will be a requirement though.

If you are referring to something more rare and "numbered" such as a SF90XX, 812C/Aperta, etc...then yes the requirements are higher. Existing Top Tier and VIP level clients basically get nearly all of those cars, with the remainder typically going to up and comers who are probably about to enter those tiers anyways. And then of course you have the really high-end Icona stuff, for something like the SP3 it was originally only available to SP1/SP2 owners (although a few cars eventually went to non-Icona owners who had passed on SP1/SP2).

Sounds like I’ll never be on that tier, so I’ll just have to stay happy with the 488 and the 296. First world problems…

Yea but dealer won't submit everyone names. Only who are established clients, owning multiple Ferraris, etc.
And yes 296gtb/gts is must to have VS.
I had a conversation with my dealer, need to own many ferraris before Ferrari even look at giving you allocation for special series..

Numbered, Icona, etc: forget about it. You are right, Top Tier wins over VIP. VIP only get lucky if anyone from Top Tier let go of allocation which is almost impossible :)

That is specific to your dealer and is not the policy of the factory for something like a Pista or 296VS. Do not confuse how your dealer operates vs. how others do. I can assure you that many, many people who received Pista allocations new do not fit what you described as the "minimum". 812C and SF90XX were numbered cars, the 296VS will not be (just "limited").

    So even I have a shot at a 296VS? I have a 296 GTS being built and a 488 Spyder (not Pista).

this depends on your dealer and no one here can answer that. But correct, it's not an automatic "no" as was stated in a prior post.

Assuming it is not number limited. If it is…we all know. Maybe the aperta version will be and that would be hard to qualify for.

yeah, who knows. The coupe won't be for sure, they didn't do that with the Stradale/Scud/Speciale/Pista. For the Aperta, the Pista Spider (didn't get a special name) wasn't numbered but the 16M and Speciale A sure were, you're right. We shall see!
