    All,

My life has been crazy busy including some travel, a new grandson born, and a bout of food poisoning. Anyway, a nicely optioned, slightly used Portofino convertible is my target F-car. The question: is there a particular time of year when sellers/dealers are perhaps a bit more motivated? Cash talks, I know that much. I tend to be counter cycle, in other words: buy a convertible in January, when it is dark, cold and snowy, and after the Holiday rush, and sales guys are bored.

Looking...and also considering desired options. I like light colored cars, probably white, but maybe a red. Same with interiors, skip black.

    Grazie

But if you're in to price tactics, I agree that they say convertibles are cheapest going in to winter. I think you'll find the base Portofino market is pretty soft right now so you should go in a little more aggressively. I suggest getting a Ferrari CPO car for your first so you have more peace of mind. Dealers will include 2 more years of CPO warranty with an official "Certified" sale. Many are probably still within the 7 years maintenance.

I've been in a "YOLO" mode the past 18 months or so, lost a brother-in-law and two uncles, family drama... I've been spending more to have fun for myself. Like TexasForever alludes to, we only get one trip to this carnival.

Get well informed on the car model, determine what range of specifications you desire, and then buy the car which floats your boat. The tide comes and goes but the boat you might like could appear at any time.

I hear you. I want to enjoy the purchase process, and know what I am getting. That means a bit of pause in my very busy life to focus on the right F-car.
    Carpe Diem.

All Portofinos are convertibles AND hardtops. They are wonderful cars, and they have the potential to have the performance greatly increased. The time of the year doesn't matter. Buy one.

The best time to buy a Ferrari is as soon as you find one you like. I am down two Ferraris for the past week (annual service for the PFM, cracked windshield on my 458S). I'm driving my Maserati Gran Cabrio and BMW Z4, but have been badly tempted to go buy a third Ferrari.
