So it doesn't go by Assembly Number. Ken is probably right. They had the single piece undertray on the side somewhere in The Factory and put it on my car. But maybe your undertray was replaced along the way with the two-piece undertray.
I think I'd rather the challenge piece, much nicer looking and appears to functionally cool the clutch, though I never had any clutch issues on track, brakes were the bigger issue. I didn't think anyone is pounding these around for 30-45 minutes flat out at this point to need it. Could be. I have service history going back to 2001 and it wasn't mentioned at any point going back that far, but the front bumper has been repainted and scraped again, and the current under tray is far from pristine. It was run really low with god awful 21" wheels prior to me getting it.
Most likely. In September 1994, whatever version of undertray was nearby was put on the car. The two-piece undertray was cheaper to make, hence the "New Solution."
With the single-piece undertray, on a lift, all one had to do is remove 4 screws to remove the small square panel, reach in with a tool to get to the oil drain. Problem is you need a custom funnel to make sure oil doesn’t get everywhere when it shoots out. I’m sure dealers complained, hence the new 2-piece solution.
For those not familiar with the Challenge clutch cover, it looks like this... Holes drilled in the clutch housing along with scoops on the cover provide internal clutch cooling at speed. It's made of thin fiberglass but has held up well.
thanks for making me aware, Ken, you are correct and I have pics to prove that Rosso Corsa is the right colour for 100607. Record corrected, to be shown with the next update
6 in Nero 1240 DS Glasurit/Nero 8500 and 4 in non-specified Black/Nero 8500 For the total split I still wating for a dozen VINs to finalize
I haven’t seen any Nero Carbonio’s/Nero’s in the U.S, so chances are they’re all Nero/Nero. 10 cars only? Out of 370? I’ll take it .
yes I had to be more precise... no 95 Berlinetta in US-spec. claims to be Carbonio with Nero interior
Thanks, Ken. Image Unavailable, Please Login Road Atlanta 1995 They looked beautiful without the wing, huh?
