FCA 2024 Annual Experience

I would encourage people to consider starting the process to become a qualified judge. To start your learning process go to the FCA's website Concours Documents - Ferrari Club of America Depending upon where one is located get with someone that is already a judge or judge in training to get some personal guidance/advice.

 

The one reason I will disagree Jeff is the biggest hurdle is knowledge of the cars. We have a high bar for that and that knowledge takes years. . If that requirement is not met, nothing else matters.

 

I don't disagree that having the knowledge is a necessary requirement. But, pointing people to a place where they can read the assorted documents as how to start understanding the judging system should do some self-weeding.

I expect there to be a good quantity of people that could be viable candidates with sufficient knowledge and the ability to commit the time & effort to the process, if they just knew (1) there is a need for more judges coming up the ranks, and (2) how they would get started on that path.

 

Well... I know what a crescent wrench is. I also know what about vise grips. What else is there to know?

 

You forgot about hammers! Very essential basic tool should be in every tool box...

The lead knock-off hammer fixed my recalcitrant electric fuel pump on the side of I-4 outside of Orlando.

 

The concours will take place in the paddock like last time?

 

It was only in the paddock last time because the rain storm the day before turned everything to mud.

 

So it will be in one of the fields at Road America or at the Resort like in 2009?

 

As has already been said it will be at the track because the hotel grounds are not large enough.

Even you have said at the track several times.

 

It is in the grass area of the paddock before getting to the Winner's Stage. Left side as one is coming up the hill.

2013 was on the front straight of the track.

The Coppa Bella Macchina will be done on the track or outside? In 2009 it was by the resort and in 2013 it was on the track.

 

The only time CBM has ever been on the track to my knowledge is for race cars that cannot be driven on the road.

It will be on the local roads.

You need to find Duncan MacPherson who now runs CBM and get a copy of the route map. He said something about wearing a Stetson. He is bringing a 512TR

 

Spoiled this year. Leaving Sunday morning for the maybe 1 1/2 hour drive from west of Milwaukee. Come home Thursday, repack and head to Indy for Ferrari Challenge. Great week ahead.

 

At the 2010 FCA National Meet Wayne Obry conducted the CBM on my old car but we did not do it on the track but on local roads.
